Honestly, I see fault on both sides here.

I think Pickering definitely had the right to cancel (and charge back) the money for the jobs not yet started when he wanted the whole thing to be over, and then he also may have been justified to charge back the first job if he thought Marty didn't deliver a quality product.

However, threatening to go to Mexican immigration on him is a dick move. Just charge it back and be done with it.

At the same time, I think Marty acted inappropriately and unprofessionally in some respects.

I allowed this thread to be created because of the threats about Mexican immigration and the other stuff. If it were just a business dispute, I wouldn't have let Marty do this.

However, I am all for fairness, and I don't think it's fair that one person's name should be fair game and the other person's isn't.

In ALL respects. What Marty did was bullshit. Period. End of story. He took a private business deal and made it PUBLIC. That is never acceptable. Ask any fucking business owner. as far as Pickering's name being posted here.....I had two options.....leave the screen shots from his emails the way they are, or spend some time editing them not to reveal his name.

I decided on the first option because I was furious about being threatened personally.

He went as far as to say 'I know where you live', and then dropping veiled threats about cartel members he is supposedly chummy with, and some chick named 'Stacy' (no clue who that is), and then finally the whole immigration ultimatums.

To clarify again....not once before he unloaded on me in that voicemail and all his threatening emails did he indicate he was unhappy, other than expressing the urgency of getting his email address set up.....he never mentioned that he was unsatisfied in the least.

This entire thread doesn't exist if he makes a quick phone call to his domain registrar. (GoDaddy) for a quick password reset....that's the bottom line here.

As for my full name being posted here....I asked Druff to prevent it from being posted here for reasons that have nothing to do with Pickering. It' because there are a handful of lowlifes on this site that will make attempts to negatively SEO my name just for the fuck of it.

If Todd want's to edit this assholes name, I really don't care to be honest. I wanted to dump this exchange on PFA only because he deserved to be outted for being a complete prick.

I had been professional, tactful, and delivered on each and every promise I made to him, and his site was launch ready other than the fact he had provided zero content, and refused to reset his password.

Regarding Marty's full name, I am considering doing the following:

1) Doing a full database replace of his last name in posts prior to this thread, to where his last name is permanently censored. Right now, the software changes his last name to Curacao on the fly, but the actual last name remains in the database. This is how vBulletin works -- it wasn't my choice to do it this way. Anyway, this will solve the problem of Marty's name being associated with trolling in the past.

2) Remove the filter on Marty's last name, and allowing it to be posted in this thread.

3) Evaluating future threads whether Marty's last name should be posted, and manually censoring it if it's just being done to screw with him. So if people are just gratuitously throwing in his last name while trolling him, I will remove it. If they post his full name in a thread like this one, I'll let it stand.

I've been doing less and less actual site development work in the last few months, and outsourcing a lot of the 'grunt work' in exchange for a % of the total revenue collected

my strengths play more toward sales and marketing and setting up a proven business model.

I've been working on setting up an auto debit system so I'm not stuck chasing these fools down every month for their payments, and automating the contract and sign up process.

I do some of the content creation with certain clients, but ultimately the burden is on them to provide it

My SEO skills are intermediate at best, and have found over time that it's much better to hire subcontractors when it comes to other aspects of site development

I have been invoicing customers on my business account (off and on) for over 6 years

Robert is the FIRST client of mine ever, to make threats, demand a refund, or cancel services with me

but the reality is that he had a site close to completion that he approved of

had paid me another deposit for his creative lighted tile site just days before his meltdown....(which should tell even the casual observer that he was satisfied with our progress)

had shown ZERO signs that he was upset or dissatisfied

this all hit me out of the blue, and I was flabbergasted he had the audacity to make comments like 'I know where you live', on top of his repeated threats to get me 'deported' ...even going so far as to take a photo from his camera phone as he was headed south on I-5

ya know a funny thing I haven't mentioned, is that not even a week before this all exploded...I had booked a fishing charter in Ensenada, and had a friend tell me they couldn't make it

I knew Robert was a big fisherman, and extended an invitation to him to take the open spot (free of charge)

our business relationship for the 2 months prior to his meltdown had been cordial and pleasant, and everything was right on track. He was actually hiring me for (2) additional sites, and I stood to make just under $4500.00 from his business.

for the record, his reply is just full of untruths. I did call him once at like 10 or 10:30 (to ask him again for his GoDaddy password of course).
