My buddy tested 2 days and took it down. Showed Micon the success and instantly he replied he was now going to just take the name, you used a competitor etc. Personally I think he coaxed him into that to try and get the name for free or cheap. THEN the emails got heated and that is what Micon posted. I asked my bro why he didn't defend himself on bitcointalk and post all email and PM's, he said he couldn't be bothered to do that with the crazies there.
Any way they had a disagreement and he got ripped off now he is looking at theft charges potentially. My buddy flies into the States on business soon so he may look into it.
Anyhoo I could care less as I actually supported Micon until I heard all this and he tried the same crap on me to a degree but otherwise we ended our discussion amicably. In fact I was going to help him raise funds for a defense even, see now there is more to this I do not want to add but I shared with Druff. Botton line I am just left shaking my head.
There is no good excuse for theft like that, $1 or $1M.

This case has plea deal written all over it.
The prosecutors have an unknown factor to wrestle with.
No similar cases to serve as a prescedent. No previous judgements to call upon. A small wildcard for sure but new territory to traverse and not something they can be completely confident about.
The accused has choices. He's not in custody. His ass is on a hammock not in some lock-up.
His crime was victimless so spending money trying to bring him to justice would be overkill. However, he doesn't have the U.S. to call home and the opposition is well aware of that.
The court will consider a plea deal a victory in that justice will have been served, they can use the guilty party as a scarecrow for others and will no doubt add to the State coffers but only if they play ball.
I'm sure you're right that the majority have no problem with a long drawn out case but a decent judge would see through that rather quickly. The court system has to be overloaded as it is.
A quick victory that turns a profit ( VOLUME, VOLUME, VOLUME) will fit in nicely with the mantra of the Nation.

But I don't think either should be allowed to be run by anyone who can simply fire up a website and process payments. There needs to be a licensing process, and these licenses need to be granted only to entities with the proper qualifications to be trustworthy and accountable.
The "let anyone run a poker site and look the other way" model has already been tried.

Jim wants to run an unlicensed bitcoin gaming site, is capable of doing so, and he knowingly ignores the law, and sets one up. Jim makes $1,000,000 from his idea.
In the above situation, the only thing separating John and Jim is their willingness to break the law. Yet Jim, who BROKE the law, is a million richer for it.
