As far as the pushing the lineman thing it came out today that the rule was originally drafted as can't be done from the second level meaning you can't line up behind a guy and straight push him with a head start but they changed it to you can't push at all on defense. Which is fucked up because how many times a game do you see offensive players , lineman especially pushing piles of people to move their RB forward. This is just another bullshit rule to "help protect the shield". In other words they put this in to say they are doing all they can.
That said the rule was clear as day and reported one of the refs warned them a couple of times that they know they do it and they would call it so this falls on the players and the coaches of the patriots. Also the jets picked up on this on film and reported it to the league and the officials which was smart to do.
I don't even know why they tried pushing the guy to block the FG. Folk probably misses a 56 yarder outdoors with a little win 9 times out of 10.
