I'm basically just a WO#MHOLE disciple and don't follow NFL closely enough to make my own plays but does anyone not expect Peyton Manning to go HAM on the Colts tonight?

Why the fuck would you have arkansas? Theyve given up like 96 unanswered points or something crazy like that. Ever since Jen Bielama tweeted Karma when the Badgers got screwed at ASU they havent won a game.
At what point did I say I had Arkansas?

I had a few parlays with the UNDER, and would have hit it because Bama just needed to run the clock out with less than 2 minutes left, but ARK couldnt stop a run play and Bama busted a meaningless 80 yrd run.

Bears recover an onside kick and they call it offsides?

just a fuckin joke again today.

3-4 and 4-5 on parlays with these two games so far. Hit all my overs and Dallas. Im a glutton for punishment with these parlays

I would probably agree with you on that but they did ask the head ref and he said that they call it really tight on onsides kicks. I had Washington, but I think it was legal but the announcers thought he was off. I just think if its that close let it go. Its like offsides in soccer.

Colts D has been pretty vicious tonight, seems like they are always in the backfield but 2 calls I have questions about

    1. Deckers TD that was ruled he didnt maintain control going to the ground. Now I know when a play is in the end zone you have to maintain control going to the ground like the calvin Johnson play a couple years back but on this Decker play he caught the ball way before the goal line, took at least 2 steps and crossed the pylon. He lost control after that but if he gets 2 feet down in bounds and moves the ball over the pylon doesn't the TD auto get rewarded once he crosses?

    2. Fox would have won that challenge at the end not that it would have prob mattered much but hillman clearly fumbled and as Colinsworth said he tucked it back in with one arm. The guy had to rip it from his control. He would have been ruled down after recovering his own fumble even though he only used one arm because he did have control. He just had little strength in the arm because of his position and it got ripped out.

Dumbest rule ever. If that's a running play, it's a TD. I never understood the rationale of this rule. It's just a stupid rule.

That penalty in OT against the Pats was laughable as well. The rule is what it is but when is that shit ever really called especially in a spot like that?

What I'm referring to is a defensive player from the Pats pushing one of their own team mates into the Jets player which cost them the game.

I don't care for either team but to actually call that in this spot was stupid.

    Gronk's uterus is finally healed.

    Thats a good analogy.

My point is if u throw a lob in the end zone then the guy does not maintain going to the ground it is incomplete. I get that

But as Hockey guy said it should be no different than a running play.

I want to know if this is the rule. Should it have been a TD? He caught it in front of the goal line and took at least 2 steps and then crossed the plane. Did they fuck this up? I was under the impression that once he crosses the plane it is a TD b ut they ruled he didnt maintain possession. But that shouldn't matter once he crosses the pylon

The rule is the rule but they enforced something that is similar to what the rule actually states.

VP of officiating Dean Blandino explained the rule that has been on the books since the offseason.

"When you look at the play, you can see New England No. 94 pushing New England No. 74 into the (offensive) formation," he said, via NFL.com. "That's a violation of the rule, it was put in for player safety, and it is the correct call."

Patriots coach Bill Belichick, predictably dour, disagreed with the call.

"We weren't on the second level when we pushed him, no," Belichick said after the game. "You can't push from the second level. I didn't think we did that."

So I heard the rule read straight from the rulebook earlier and it is worded that it has to take place on the second level so I think it was close but what a dumb rule. Some of these rules are just stupid. 99 % of people disagree with me on horsecollars too but those fuckers should be legal too. If the only way you can tackle a guy is to horsecollar him then it should be allowed. Again yes people will get hurt and break all kinds of shit but you can always choose another sport.

If you want this rule make it everywhere on the field. What's so special about it being in the endzone where clear possession isn't good enough?

As for the Calvin Johnson incident from a few years back, he had control of it on the ground he either just flipped it away as he was getting up to get his celebration started or put the ball to the ground as he was getting up & it slipped out of his hand or he just left it there. I don't remember exactly which scenario it was but it was one of those 2 & can't believe the Lion's lost a victory because of it.

edit: I'm talking about the one from the 2010 season opener not the 1 from week 1 this year.

How many times have we seen a running back dive over the pile, extend the ball to break the plane & have the ball slapped out of his hands in the endzone & have it called a TD?
Happens all the time & it's always called a TD for the runningback. Once the guy catches the ball & has control he's now a runner so I see zero difference. Decker obviously made a football move with the ball to extend it to the front of the goal line.
Why doesn't the defence all jump onto an opponent who's scored before he can get up & rip the ball out so he can't come up with the ball? Kinda like what happened to GB against Seattle last year. The defense should do that absolutely every fucking time.

    Absolutely the dumbest rule ever.

This call is probably going to make me lose in my fantasy this week also, but I'd say the same if it fucked my opponent & gave me a win.
