The initial spirit of the bet was regarding his use of the word 'then' instead of 'than' or vice versa. I think everyone can agree on this.
This post by Vegas can be interpreted both ways, but it was made after the terms for the initial bet were already being determined:
The other quotes by Searles do not bolster his case at all ('usages' and 'those 2 words' doesn't imply both words in the same post, and "25 incorrect usages for $250 with a panel of 3 impartial judges" actually bolsters Vegas' claim) but the one above does have multiple interpretations. This isn't "exactly" what I'm saying; I don't think you won the bet, and I don't think the bet should be voided.
