You could get a nice 900 square foot apartment for like $1000 a month in Arizona or Nevada. Yeah, you would not live there 5 months a year, but so what, you have something to come home to. Plus, I know you know this, but its just a matter of time before you have some type of medical event. You really want to battle a medical event with $1,400 in the bank, then what?

It would only take 2 years to get a substantial savings account given your line of work. But going to Mexico and blowing your hard earned money on Stars? I personally would be monumentally depressed going back on the ship. Not sure what you are doing but it makes no sense. I am not saying you cannot play poker again, but a few hundred bucks here and there not a few thousand. You are flat out too old for that shit.
Playing on Stars is just the excuse he uses.

Cheap booze, cheap hookers, and most importantly cheap meth.

Marty will deny it, but anybody who's read his posts over the last few years can clearly see he's changed. Was always obvious he was a drinker and most of his rants were because of his wet brain, but now he's totally deluded and his thoughts are all over the place.
I highly doubt he is using Meth. First he could never pass the drug test, and secondly he could not handle the withdrawals being out to sea months at a time.

I don't know why he insists on blowing him money other than I know for a fact some people cannot handle having any type of money. I remember when I starting accumulating money in 2009, there was always the temptation to hop a plane to Las Vegas and get a suite and sit down at the Black Jack table. It took a while to break the mental cycle and start an everyday life of staying home on a weekend and watching TV.

I know a guy who lost everything three times over because he simply could not watch a sporting event without some type of action. He even got a fresh lease on life after getting a half million inheritance. That lasted less than a year.
