Slim T Trip Report - WSOP 2012

Whenever you accuse someone of stealing or scamming, you need to come out with all of the information, and CLEARLY lay everything out.

For example, let's say I was in Slim T's shoes, and I was claiming Brandon stole the change of the grocery money he gave me.

If my accusations were true, I would lay it out like this:

- I gave Brandon $400 to buy me groceries

- He returned with what appeared to be about $200 worth of groceries, and sent it up through the bell desk

- I asked him for the other $200 back, and he kept stalling me

- I still don't have the $200 back

- Here are all of the text messages I sent him asking for the money, and his responses giving me the run-around (and then I'd post the text messages)

It would be pretty clear from the above whether or not Brandon was guilty.

(Note that the above is ALL FICTION and I am just giving a hypothetical example. Brandon never stole anything from me.)

If you come out with some cryptic story and don't clearly lay out how the person cheated you, it starts to look doubtful.

I gave Drexel $300 in the casino for groceries - Then Drexel called you and you said that you would swing by - so we all walked out into the parking lot - you were there1 minute later - we all talked for a few then i walked over to the car - Drexel said he could get me some tabs so i gave him another $100 - He at least cheated me out of the $100 - minimum
He also sent me so many texts saying that he wanted to do stuff and then always backed out - i have all the texts

be careful Druff - Brandon is a liar - i was never out for this - i wanted to have a good time and give everybody money - i probably wont ever make it back out there and i knew it going in, so i was trying to pay through the nose for good service - Brandon agreed to do so many things through text messages - and never showed up - it really is strange - He has to be a flaky liar - 4 sure

Are you denying ever saying or texting that he could keep the change in exchange for doing you these favors?

When he said he wanted to do stuff, was it abstract like, "Hey we should go out for a steak dinner sometime", or was it concrete like, "Hey let's meet at 8pm tomorrow for steak."

If he was just loosely saying he'd like to do some things with you, but then got too busy, you really can't get angry at him, especially since he has a new girlfriend and obviously is busy with her.

i will answer all questions druff - be careful who you side with before we debate because brandon really ran his mouth while we were talking by the cars by ourselves, and the things he said i could only know through him

I think it has been established that Brandon is gossipy and probably talks shit about everyone. I am am sure the people who are friends with him in real life are aware of this.

Maybe he couldn't get the tabs and when your crazy bitch mode texts started to fly he wasn't that motivated to keep trying to track them down or to meet up with you to give the hundred back. With a hundred bucks he is doing you a favor, not trying to make money.

He is also avoiding talking about this because this is not the type of thing you would want to talk about publicly or put into print. Duh!!!!!!!!!!!

First off , it was nice meeting you Slim T and next time I am in town we should def get some dinner and play some poker.

From what I remember you gave him $400 and was under the impression you told him to keep the change for his troubles for making a grocery/Wal Mart run in the middle of the night. That's the only thing I know first hand about this story as we had 0 interaction through the series.

As far as the other stuff about you meeting up with Brandon etc. and it not happening that is pretty standard for Vegas especially during the WSOP. I was supposed to meet Brandon a few times before that night and it never worked out because either my or his schedule changed. But I will throw in that he got a me a pretty sweet deal on rooms (for next to nothing) met me @ the casino and gave me a tour of the place I was staying and offered to pick me up at the airport which I declined because I rented a car.

I have a guy who backed me for 25k+ over the past year and I was supposed to take him out to dinner but our schedules conflicted for 7 days and we had plans 3 times but it never worked out. Same with Reggiman, I was supposed to take him out for an expensive dinner in 2011 because he really helped me out with something but we never could meet up and it was the same this year. We settled on Rio salads instead because there was only 10 minutes out of an 8 day trip we could get together. Was supposed to meet up with C-Money and a few others last year as well but I ran deep in both events I played so it never happened.

My advice for everyone is when you come to Vegas for a long period of time is to rent a car (and bring your own GPS) and make a stop to grab any major necessities you may need for your trip. You don't need a rental car for the entire trip (even though it is +ev) so at least get one for 1 day. If you don't rent a car then take a cab the first day you arrive to get all of your business handled. Or there are various services such as grocery deliveries and laundry services available all throughout the city if you need them.

i agree with this china - i was naive to everything - but he still Lied repeatedly - directly lied - he also never produced the tabs - he never introduced me to the man that was going to escrow my bet -

he texted me that certain things were on and he was on the way to get me - AND HE NEVER SHOWED

I don't see any reason why Drexel would feel the need to answer this nonsense to a bad gimmick on the weekend, and I don't think his partners are going to do a show that he doesn't feel like doing. None of this makes any sense. A $100 bucks for pain pills? Pain pill, or one or two, unless we are talking about something small like Vicodin, which you should have a shitload of if terminally ill. Also his name is known here, why would he talk about the procurement of narcotics on the web or radio? And why bring gossip into the conversation of whether he scammed you?

You have to look at this from the other perspective. You came into town, flashed money, said you were ill, and asked favors. They don't know you from Adam. Perhaps he strung you along rather than being impolite. Also, they are not sure if the guy who pretends every week to be something he's not is truly telling the truth on another matter. Add in that guys who have came into town and flashed cash in an obvious manner have often proved troublesome, and may have sent up warning flags. I mean, you're trying to book strange props that result in 500k payouts right after you met them. Even if you paid up front, middling that situation between two parties can become touchy. They all saw you had a roll of cash, and that type of ostentatious behavior often spells scam. I'm not saying you are, but I have to imagine Druff and Brandon both thought, here we go again.
