Well this is an interesting thread.

Just thought I would pop in and say hi, add my two cents and all.

I am Tom, the owner of swcpoker.com , I am NOT the previous owner mentioned on bitcointalk forum, he is a former friend who sold me the name a while back and NO I have never used it for anything, yet...

I would like to add that while I discussed selling the name to Micon and we chatted briedly via email about my old friend, I offered it for even a little less, he wanted it but paypal did not seem to be an available option and I do not do the bitcoin thing.

Now I am debating what to do with the name, gets some traffic of course but just like to dump it now and get my grand back I have in it.

What do you guys think is a viable option for it?

I wish Micon all the best I never wish anyone any harm but Brian is not quite as quick in a business sense as one would imagine he should be.

Your swcpoker.com has a DA / PA of 1 and a TF / CF of 0 with 0 backlinks and negligible age. Furthermore it is in the Google toxic field of gambling and has a stigma associated with it.

The more I think about this, the more I think Micon can get off here.

Reason being: his lawyers are going to exploit the fact that the existing laws were written before bitcoins existed and fail to account for them properly.

Its going to cost Micon everything he has to pull it off and probably tax his family as well, but I think his legal team can make it happen with the right jury.

That said... I imagine that this will only embolden Micon who will get even more involved in SWC or whatever its called now and the state will spend a long weekend revising the laws accordingly before they go for round 2. And winning.

I honestly can't see this happening even with great lawyers. Its well established that bitcoin has value and is even traded on regulated exchanges. There is a good reason why no one else in usa is running something similar. Druff has already covered this at length though.

But even if he tried to argue this point somewhat effectively, what will fuck him over is that it sounds as though the prosecution has copies of all of his electronic correspondence through such mediums as Skype. They have him directly stating how much money in US dollars the site is making per month. How can he argue no value when they have him talking about it himself?

I can only imagine what other correspondence they have including discussions around how to evade authorities...

Will it work with poker affiliate for btc, big yes on that one.

Targetted natural traffic = revenue, how much, well the old site name dot com based on a thread I found made 50 btc the last year. Even if he spent $1k to buy the name he would make that is weeks of rake back and on and on. The myth is .com can be taken and not .eu, that is not true, usgov takes many .eu names.

Based solely on a business decision it should be a no brainer for him to buy and watch his sign ups and action grow but what do I know. Who wants to see their venture grow and grow for $1k.

The one word the Nevada State Garotting Commission doesn't want to hear is Kahnawake. A simple beach ceremony with a couple of elders and a Plenty of Squaw member and Micon is untouchable.

He may have to convert to Mormonism first, in order to keep his beloved, but it could be a win-win scenario.

That's really your only viable customer, unless you can an affiliate who deals with BTC sites to buy it, but I don't think they will pay you much.

I have limited knowledge Dan but since the ledger is public and if they did not mix in a large scale before cashing out it should not be too hard at all to tie the address to the business and then to Micon. Which brings up something that has not been mentioned, what stops the US from bringing further charges for say tax evasion immediately after these charges?

I think even if he pled or got a light sentence he can never sleep well.
