Without getting into the political and personal emotions of the whole thing I look at this issue this way...America is "supposed" to be the "land of the free."
I see two different groups at odds with one another obviously, but one group is trying to force the other to do something...that sounds un-"American."
If you get down to the grass roots of what freedom is, then it is your choice to make your own decisions.
The gay community is trying to force other people to bend to their will.
Nobody is forcing the gay community to go to businesses that accept them.
Gays are trying to force businesses to accept them.
The businesses aren't forcing gays to take their business. Gays are trying to force the businesses.
It's really as simple as that if you support freedom and the "american" way.
It's not like it's the only place in town that can serve their needs.
It's very cut and dry. Gays are trying to force somebody to accept them.
I'm completely OK with gay marriage and have a gay uncle that I love very much and I enjoy his partner's company.
There is no hatred here. It's just very simple. Gays are trying to force other people to accept something where they aren't being forced to go.
I could understand the hatred if we lived in socialist society where there was only one person in town allowed to make a cake and that person said no.
