Dutch Boyd has previously said that he would never pay Mason Malmuth a penny.

    A garnishment writ? Wage garnishment?
If Dutch was employed, Mason could get 25% of his wages.

If Mason knew what bank Dutch had his cash in, he could have his bank account seized.

However, in order to do either of these you must use local constable's or sheriff's office to file the legal paperwork.

Very doubtful Mason will get any money.

Dutch Boyd should buy more twoplustwo domain names.

    Fuck Mason Malmuth and twoplustwo.

In Nevada, you can also garnish the contents of a "cash drawer".... The winnings that the Rio holds for tournament winners probably qualify. It's a one time garnishment, for a specified amount, to satisfy the judgment. The writ itself, according to Dutch, was served "minutes before" the final table.

Dutch owes MM $60K? Have Dutch send a Garda truck with 6 million pennies. Over 33,000 pounds of coins Mason can sort thru...

It seems that the most important fact is buried under the mound of cash Boyd won. This and I repeat this was the only way anybody was ever going to be paid (if they are).
Scammers like Boyd keep promising the world to people they owe while just hoping to bink a big score. They have no means nor intention on paying. If by happen chance they luck box their way into money, then they'll deal with it as it comes. If Boyd never placed in this event Mason would've never seen a red cent. Can't wait till he goes busto again. Predatory people like Boyd should be stoned in public.

A lot of holes in the desert, and a lot of problems are buried in those holes. But you gotta do it right. I mean, you gotta have the hole already dug before you show up with a package in the trunk. Otherwise, you're talking about a half-hour to forty-five minutes worth of digging. And who knows who's gonna come along in that time? Pretty soon, you gotta dig a few more holes. You could be there all fuckin' night.

If you are doing it alone, it takes a lot longer than 45 minutes to dig a deep enough hole to effectively dispose of a body in the Mojave Desert. The soil is very compacted, or so I have heard.

I like how Dutch claims it isn't life changing money but the n-word looks like he's modelling for Derelicte. Well done on getting a 3rd braceet though.

No wonder the book isn't doing well, they rely on PFA for everything. Maybe if we can get an e-copy of it and put each chapter in a post people will read it here.

I agree that it's a really good read. To preface my brief review, I don’t know Dutch and I didn't have an opinion one way or the other about Dutch. But I wasn't expecting much from this book. However, I bought a copy and blasted through it in a couple of days. I've heard it described as a mix of autobiography and strategy - that's completely misleading. There's no strategy in the book. It's entirely autobiographical (which I prefer). The story Dutch tells about his poker travails is surprisingly compelling. You get a neat glimpse into the oldish-school poker scene just before the boom. He also dishes a lot of dirt on a few poker names. One guy I'll look at a lot differently now is Phil Laak.

In my mind, the strongest aspect of this book is his account of dealing with Type I Bipolar Disorder. Having treated people with bipolar disorder, I appreciated the way he was able to create such a vivid illustration of the disorder. As a clinician that does not have bipolar disorder, it's hard to understand what bipolar patients go through and it's difficult even for bipolar patients to describe what it's like to experience a manic episode. However, Dutch manages to put the reader in his shoes. To be honest, I've never read such an effective depiction of mania and I think clinicians could benefit from reading his accounts.

The book is mildly funny at times and he even drops a few juicy bombshells (perhaps some of these were common knowledge within the pokersphere but I was unaware - I won't spoil any of them). One very interesting part is when Dutch places 12th in the 2003 WSOP Main Event (Moneymaker year) and he goes to collect his winnings. Again, I won't spoil it but damn those were some shenanigans going on. Overall, he paints a bleak picture of the life of a poker grinder. It's a gritty book with fairly sharp writing (probably credit to his co-author) that goes on some odd tangents at times, but I would still recommend it for any poker fan.

I realize Dutch is a controversial figure and not well liked in poker. He’s done some shit that has negatively impacted others. While he doesn’t portray himself as a saint, he does accept blame for the PokerSpot debacle. To be honest, I felt sorry for the guy after finishing this book. I think he’s misunderstood and he’s been given the short end of the stick in terms of public opinion. After reading this book I couldn't help but root for him at his recent final table and I was happy for him when he won the bracelet. But I guess that's probably what Dutch wanted when he wrote this book.
