What was the deal with the freeroll? Why was there a waiting list? I never got in.

here's a show.... Vwls on Vwls....talk about vowels for all I care, I'm listening
I will pay you on Lock Carbon or Hero. Post or PM me your s/n.
show was meh. I listened to about half of it.
technical problems - the sound was off at the beginning and vwls never sounded very good. then druff disconnected the other two.
didn't hear a single phone call in the time i listened.
vwls hardly said anything while drexel went on and on.
there didn't seem to be any structure to the show or flow...the only set piece was druff talking about being cheap.
the 1,000,000 buyin players = sooo boring, at least do some digging and find out who the anonymous guys are or prank call the wsop to get them to give you something.
added up to a whole lot of nothing worth listening to

solid first show, but......
there were a few things missing,
fun, entertainment and must listen again factor
i just found the show wasnt tight enough, too much waffling, especially from druff, and to a lesser extent drexel
what i liked
- discussion about womens bodily functions, i laughed out loud, especially drexels and vwls persopective
-vwls addition i great, sutlry voice
-drexels experiences/stories in vegas
what i didnt like
-jew tips just dragged on ( thats where micon would have ''lowhoused'' druff)
-drexels report on the robberies tilted me, straight news isnt his greatest strength. Leave that to druff or vwls, as drex is more the color commentator
-not enough callers, characters, OSA...
-not enough vwls...needs her own segments
- show needs a nemesis, be it a marty like characters
-low production values...audio quality needs improvement
overall great start, looking forward to future shows
All of this is quality advice.
Brandon and I both completely agree that we under-utilized Vwls in the first episode. She will definitely have her own segment, in addition to being part of the normal segments. Feel free to post suggestions.
Lack of calls also sucked, but was due to time constraints. That won't be a problem in future broadcasts.
Lack of characters was also a problem, but again, this was due to time contraints and lack of their availability. We will have a few wacky characters on each show.
I disagree that Brandon isn't good with news segments, but perhaps that one did go on a bit long, as did my WSOP Jew Tips segment.
Sound quality problems at the beginning won't happen again. Regarding overall sound quality, I will listen again and turn up the bit rate if I think it needs improvement. I am actually a big believer in the need for high audio quality.
One common complaint about the show on the last site we were on involved the "name" guests.
But the complaint wasn't that we didn't have enough. It was that the segments were boring and dry.
We decided that we're not going to bend over backwards to get "known" guests unless we feel we can make an interesting segment out of it. Now, of course, a really big name in poker is always interesting, but moderately big names can be boring if they have nothing noteworthy to say.
For example, we're not going to scramble to interview some online player who happens to score a bracelet at this year's WSOP. There's really nothing interesting to say in such an interview, especially because our show doesn't discuss poker strategy.
BTW, if anyone here can assist us with getting interviews with interesting guests, PM me.
Shit if this pilot was a fail then what does that make micons show?
If I was grading the show, I'd give it a B+ for those of us who participate on the forums and know of all of you. For an outside listener...probably a C-...not much that would really encourage that person to come join the forums, or to continue listening.
a somewhat valid point, but i thoroughly enjoyed the nvp/dd shows and i knew nothing about the forum dramas/characters
all i knew was that the chemistry between micon and druff, and later on drexel just made the show hilarious
micon starting the show without druff, and druff whining like a 9yr old made me spit out my protein shakes, not to mention micon ''lowhousing'' druff continuously
imo some just a matter of having a roster of characters, scallir, fat scottish guy, marty, drunk dutch guy and so on
its a matter of finding the right balance in pleasing the forum members and appealing to new listeners, and i am sure within a few shows that will be achieved
imo, reading the chat while listening to the show makes the experience infinitely more funny.
I thought the Pilot Episode was a solid effort, with promise of much more to come (phone calls, guests, etc.).
