I think everybody misread the story. Pokerstars didn't agree to pay $750 million. They agreed to pay 750 million FPPs that Isai Scheinberg had accumulated from leftover American accounts.


I made that post above right when I woke up.

Upon further reading, I think this is probably true, given both the number of independent sources seemingly confirming this, plus Pokerstars' non-denial about the situation.

Of course, this doesn't mean we'll have any more options to play poker in the US right now, but at least everyone should get their money back quickly and easily.
