i'm outta rep at the moment but just wanted to thank you for that suggestion. that site is priceless. and jamming to jewdonk disco while sipping my morning coffee is a pretty solid start to the day.

Might be worth a shot to have a policy in place whereby posters who admit to being bipolar or the like get instabanned. I'm just riffing here but that kind of crazy can be a bit dangerous, especially when that kind of crazy gets to run wild on a forum that enjoys confrontation, public meltdowns and culling the weak. Hate to say it but it doesn't seem completely implausible that one of the crazies could get really butthurt while he's off of his meds and when he can't find pooh or muck ficon (or whoever hurt his crazy feelings) he goes after one of the more public members (e.g., like sixtoedpete only violent). Just seems like playing with fire to let clincally insane people run around in this environment (albeit it can be super funny times). Plus emotional spazzing is annoying to read.

I was going to undelete what Chaps was posting for garrett in 2016, and in fact did for about 30 seconds, but a lot of it was very incendiary toward a number of regulars here (some of whom don't post anymore), so I decided to let sleeping dogs lie and keep it deleted.

I'm glad we have a kinder, gentler garrett these days (for the most part).

Is that the reason? He said he was embarrassed to be associated with this site. I assumed he was referring to all the mentally ill, racist, illiterate, jingoist, and conspiritard users that have taken over. Are you saying he was scared off by Mumbles' wikipedia links?

He will have to answer that. But he has definitely had a hand in riling up some of these posters, which worsens the situation.

I really don't want to censor or ban posters just because they post stupid or ignorant things at times. I don't want to be the thought police. The only thing I want to cut down on here are the crazy posters who seem to be fueled by mental illness.

The racism on here is also MUCH less than what was seen at NWP and DD.
