I'll post this over here, too. Posted it in the MLB thread a few days ago.

Cade Horton has a decent shot at Rookie of the Year. He has a 4-start, 23 1/3 scoreless inning streak going. Unlike the AL, where Nick Kurtz is running away with it, there's no obvious ROY in the NL. Some say Drake Baldwin, but he hasn't hit a HR in 4 weeks, and doesn't even play every day, thanks to a crowded C/DH situation in Atlanta.

I got +3500 on Bovada a few days ago. Last I saw it was +2800. Right now the whole bet is off the board, but it should be BACK.

If you can get Horton at long odds, he's a great ROY bet. He's not a longshot anymore. Some books are so asleep on this one that he's not even listed yet.

The NL award has been a roller coster all year. I still think if Burns can get some help from his team and he keeps racking up 10Ks an outing he isnt dead.

Horton is +6000 at DK. Its not a bad look at all. I could see it.

    @simpdog

    Jays vs Doyers

I looked at it this afternoon. Jays ML & Jays TT o3.5

Jays prolific offense vs the struggling Dodgers offense. Be fun if they both went off. Two old warhorses from another era on the mound.

Jays do just fine vs lefties

    Bullpen advantage Jays.

Game actually means something to both teams too.

    He must read this forum.

No doubt Mookie Betts will also start performing better soon.

You should 100% fire +6000 on him at DK, even with Baldwin's 2 HR yesterday.

If he finishes strong, he's got a pretty decent shot at it. Admittedly he's probably drawing near dead if Baldwin also finishes strong, but that's not a given.

Current DK odds have Drake -200, followed by Isaac Collins at +155. Next closest is Agustin Ramirez at +1500. Historically this award massively favors hitters over pitchers. Last year a pitcher won it in each league, but even including that going back the last 10 years only 4 of the 19 winners were pitchers. I didn’t include Ohtani since he was both. The previous decade was better as 8 out of 20 were pitchers but the decade before that only 2 out of 20 were pitchers.

So there’s a pretty good reason the top three odds are all hitters. And Ramirez has the third best odds with a negative WAR. Baldwin could certainly slump down the stretch, but he’s a top 100 prospect that has hit at every level and despite sharing catching and DH duties the Braves will give him plenty of playing time the rest of the way.

Isaac Collins plays for the Brewers so he has that going for him in that they are the feel good story of the NL, but he’s also 28. Age isn’t supposed to matter in terms of ROY but I can’t help but wonder if it does. It’s a pretty interesting story though as he was unheralded and was a minor league rule 5 draft selection by the Brewers. He’s come out of no where to be in the ROY hunt.

I do think there’s good value in the SP’s you guys have mentioned but it’s just harder to win it as a SP. A good example of that is in 2022 when Michael Harris won it over Spencer Strider. Not playing everyday hurts.

I cant wait for Burns to sign in LA, Bos or NY at 67% of what the Reds offer him in 4 years.

Doesn’t look like Colorado where there were a few thousand fans and quite a few Jays fans.

    Does Kershaw dye his beard?

Why do you think Kershaw dyes his beard? He's 37. Most guys haven't gotten gray in the beard yet at that age.

I actually made it to almost 50 before mine started.

Mookie did read this forum, btw. 2-for-4, HR, and 3 RBI.

Kershaw full on Wasp. I didn’t get a gray until 40ish, but then it comes on fast once it comes at all. If his beard didn’t show any gray, I didn’t watch it, he is certainly dying it. Pic at link below is over 2 years old and he’s certainly gray.

I am sweating Casper Ruud in straight sets over here. He just pulled out first set tiebreak win. Hopefully it mentally breaks the Frenchmen. Just keeping with myself, San, and tella embrace of Norse superiority. Where’s admantium when you need him?

This thread has the same jinxing power as always the minute I post. Now 0-3 second set. Im now going to have to bet real money at - odds on a third set and sweat it.
