Here’s a fun one limitles
It was the last song Zevon played on Zevon’s famous Letterman appearance - Zevon knew then he would soon be dead from terminal lung cancer. Letterman was a huge Zevon fanIn 1973, American musician Warren Zevon met David Lindell in Sitges, Catalonia, where Lindell operated a bar named "The Dubliner" after working as a mercenary in Africa. Inspired by Lindell's stories of his career as a mercenary, Zevon decided to collaborate with him in making a song about a left-wing mercenary.
As a kid I never understood the Patty Hearst reference at the end. Love it now.
Shout out to all the mercenaries out there

I was a huge Letterman guy at the time and I just happened to catch Zevon’s last appearance. Zevon had been handed his terminal diagnosis and Letterman knew it How was this going to play out, I wondered?
What a line. The episode was transcendent.sitting beside Letterman, he projected a feeling of acceptance and understanding, with a touch of humor.
"First of all," Zevon said on the show, "let me say that I might have made a tactical error in not going to a physician for 20 years. It was one of those phobias that really didn't pay off."
“Few were as committed to their cynicism.” Outlaws, mercenaries and sociopaths were his inspiration. Famously, Zevon was a world class alcoholic, drug abuser and prick but he played with and was loved by a who’s who of his era. He played with or had appearances by the like of the Eagles, Police, Everly Brothers, Springsteen, Linda Ronstadt, Waddy Wachtel, Dylan, Neil Young, REM, Jerry Garcia, Buckingham & Nicks etc etc

Permission to come aboard, Captain
Midas Man - Brian Epstein Biopic
Amazon Prime Oct 30th release.
I have not seen it. I need you to act as my royal food taster.
Brian Epstein - instrumental in the Beatles start, Jewish and a gay man in the early ‘60’s. There’s a lot to work with.
I generally avoid cheap and cheerful. This cheap and (mostly) cheerful biopic of the late Beatles manager Brian Epstein is a fun exercise in nostalgia, where the vibe is consistently toe-tapping and rarely thought-provoking.
Previous depictions of the 4 Beatles have always left me annoyed. There is almost zero Beatles music. Zap,might find that a plus but it possibly indicates an issue with Amazons budget.
The actor who plays Epstein played Townes - Anya Taylor-Joys crush on The Queens Gambit. Also a gay character curiously enough though not Jewish. He was great in that.
These are difficult times and one can’t be too careful. Let me know if it’s safe.
