Yeah, felony conviction in the past 10 years = no card. When you apply for the first time you have to submit all of your info and prints for a state background check. Even if he has one he has to renew each year, and he would most likely be denied then as well.

Actually I might be mistaken on this one. They used to be much stricter on this issue and wouldn't issue a card to any felony conviction of 10 years or less. Looks like they might have backed off that and only made it felony convictions for distributing a controlled substance. It is a medicine in the states eyes, so I guess this would be equivalent to not allowing a felon to obtain pain killers legally.

He's known the general probation terms for months, even though they weren't made official until November.

Therefore, I'm sure he already took the precaution to get a medical marijuana card.

Also, he wasn't a convicted felon prior to November 3, so he could have obtained one before that point anyway, even if it's not available to convicted felons.

So I think he will still be able to smoke pot to his heart's content.

I think the most unpleasant things to him will be:

- Having to consent to searches at any time for any reason

- Having to be part of a DNA database (I wouldn't give a shit about this, but he is so anti-government that he has to hate this)

- Having to maintain employment, or at least having to maintain the appearance of doing so

- No guns

- Having to watch who he associates with, and that these people don't have a felony record

- Needing permission to leave Nevada

- The curfew thing if it actually happens

Also, he's made just one tweet in the 12 days since he was given probation.

He made 14,500 tweets between June 2008 and late April 2015 -- a clip of about 6 tweets per day on average.

So obviously he feels uncomfortable about social media now, and we may not hear much from him until his probation is up.

There are two sections of Micon's probation: "General Terms" (which all parolees assumedly receive) and "Special Terms". Since the "Impulse Control Evaluation/Counselling" condition was listed under the special terms section, it would follow that the prosecutor likely saw something in the reports/testimony that made him think Micon doesn't think too much about his actions and their consequences on others.

Like, maybe starting a new Nevada-facing bitcoin website in Antigua WHILE you're being investigated for the original site you were an owner of? Come to think of it - that might be a text book definition of Impulse Control disorder --- not worrying about the consequences to self or family for current actions.

I'm pretty sure felons can have their MMJ card, they just can't be involved on the industry side of things with a felony conviction... At least that is how AZ and CO are.

Honestly state laws are soooo diverse at this point, anything that flies in one state cant be counted on in another.
