Here is my view - fwiw
Poker / Gambling is an activity where you are looking for an edge on another person or business, in the case of a casino, +EV slots, or card counting in BJ, and also pursuing an enjoyable past time. Some gamble as their main source of a living. Some gamble as a past time. All the drama on these boards is also enjoyable sometimes. But shit is getting very real here as we see from drexel's post above. Clearly a line has been crossed. Our community is a community known to be generous to charities.
From my perspective, here is what could happen.
- Payouts to all cash investors in Projekt:Sep should be made asap since the BAP has been cancelled. These payout should be made using the BAP cash. This should be done with whatever funds Jasep has.
- Payouts to debt investors in the BAP should not be made right away out of the available BAP cash funds for what are obvious reasons. If the cash investors are paid out in full and if funds are still available to payout the debt investors, then those payments can be made as well.
- At this point there may or may not be anything owing. If anything is owing, then individual repayment arrangements should be made. Borrowing from someone else other than a bank to make these repayments, should not happen.
- 22Q, the payment to 22Q should be verified. If this has not been made, then I suggest the community rally immediately to make this right or even righter (as I suspect might happen) and that Jasep then owes the community. I believe badguy23 may have made a payment to 22Q based on what I saw in LLPR chat, but I may have been mistaken. I will pledge a payment to the "22Q Make it Right" fund if one is arranged. By the way, these payments can be made directly to 22Q using their website for most people - but the payment you make can be recorded in the "22Q Make it Right" thread if something is set up for this. I realize that the 22Q Ironman thing was a VPR initiative, but I suspect druff would allow PFA to be used in some way to organize this initiaitive.
- discussions about VPR partnership squabbles and other partnership squabbles should be kept private.
I have not enjoyed Jasep being trashed mercilessly. I do not enjoy any fellow person being trashed mercilessly. If that makes me a pussy - then so be it. People make bad decisions all the time. Who hasn't bought their wife or kid a present they couldn't afford? Many people had an angle in the Projekt:Sep - some wanted to see him succeed, some wanted a way to get a debt repaid, some want to invest, some wanted a sweat and some wanted probably something else, but safe to say everyone wanted something and sometimes things just don't work out the way you want. My point in making this post is not to blame or defend anyone. I think we can all get past this, if we choose and everyone still can do the right thing. I'd rather get things going positively in the right direction again, and if only the trolls would nap it out for a few days, maybe it will.
