The problem with censoring "misinformation" is who decides what is misinformation? Twitter decided that the New York Post story reporting Hunter Biden was under investigation was misinformation. Then after the election it comes out that Hunter has been under investigation for almost two years. Twitter clearly lied about it being misinformation.

Big tech is being legally protected by the exemption from those they censor. Those that get censored should be given back their due process by taking away big tech's exemption. Then big tech can censor all they want and I don't give a damn.

Congress needs to repeal big techs exemption.

Repealing their exemption will have no effect on their ability to censor posts if they want to. None.

The problem is these companies are exempt from the liabilities of normal publishers under the Communications Decency Act. They aren't responsible for any "misinformation" but are censoring WHAT THEY SAY IS MISINFORMATION anyway. If they are going to censor then they should not have any exemptions from the CDA and have to answer to lawsuits like any other publisher. Big Tech saves millions in legal fee's because of the exemption.

One very egregious example of censorship under the guise of "eliminating misinformation" was when Twitter blocked the New York Post story, that Hunter Biden was under investigation. NYP's account was blocked for two weeks. Twitter called the story "misinformation." Facebook pulled the same shit. So now that the election is over it turns out that Hunter has been under investigation for almost two years. So Twitter and Facebook's statements that the story was "misinformation" was itself misinformation. THEY LIED TO US.

If they are going to pull that kind of bullshit then they need to lose their federal protection from lawsuits. Congress should take it away from them.
