I told you he was a fake Republican and a grifter. I told you that the whole claim of, "I'm totally a Republican calling out Trump because it's the moral thing to do" was a complete fraud.
The guy changed parties in his mind a long time ago. He continued pretending to be a Republican in order to lap up the few remaining career opportunities there were for him. Once those dried up, he developed the gimmick of the moral Republican who has no choice but to call out President Trump. He made lots of money appearing on talk shows doing just that, while posturing as a Republican. Had he admitted that he was no longer a Republican, nobody would have had him on, because Democrats bashing Trump were obviously a dime a dozen.
Then he started The Lincoln Project with other 2000s GOP rejects -- ones who found themselves on the outside looking in, and needed an income. It was a great grift. They raised tons of money from sucker Democrats for the effort, stole most of it through "administrative expenses", and declared victory when Trump lost.
Easy mark.
Now, having ruined whatever shred of credibility he had left with the GOP, he had no other choice but to officially switch parties, and will try to advise Democrats going forward.
The fact that you admire these people is mind boggling.
