Speaking of age, as I've stated before, I don't think Giuliani is all there anymore.

I feel that's a big reason for some of his bizarre behavior lately, and his strange loyalty to Trump, at the expense of his own reputation.

He didn't NEED any of this. He had plenty of lifetime goodwill from his highly successful time as NYC mayor.

The guy is 76 now, and just seems to have somewhat lost it. It really would be best for all of our major politicians to be under 65. Many very intelligent and talented human beings decline a good deal after that age -- some more than others, but it happens to some degree to most people.

I don't understand how in recent years, all of a sudden we're just putting that aside and ignoring basic facts about the human brain and age. You'd think we'd have learned from Reagan, who clearly declined in the final two years of his Presidency, and then we found out why.

    Term and age limits

Some OF These politicians didn't start out corrupt but the longer they are in office the more their greed of money and power sets in

Shit, Diane Feinstein is 87 years old.

She has been a U.S. Senator since 1992.

Is being a U.S. Senator a lifetime job?

Serious question -- was there ever link made to the assassination attempt and the Alzheimer's which appeared about 5 years later? I hadn't heard this before, but it wouldn't shock me if this was a factor.

He was pretty sharp -- at least for an older guy -- during his first term. It was around 1986 when he started having noticeable issues. At the time, these were attributed to just aging, but once the Alzheimer's diagnosis came in 1994, it started to become more clear what had really occurred.

A 1987 article in the New Republic posed the troubling question outright: “Is Reagan Senile?”

That was precisely what CBS News reporter Lesley Stahl was asking herself during a 1986 visit with a president she would later describe in her 2000 memoir, Reporting Live, as “shriveled” and verging on catatonic.

“Reagan didn’t seem to know who I was,” she wrote. “He gave me a distant look with those milky eyes and shook my hand weakly. Oh, my, he’s gonzo, I thought.” But a few minutes later, he snapped out of it and from that point on seemed perfectly fine. When asked, White House aides admitted to Stahl that they had witnessed similar episodes.
The "snapping out of it after a few minutes" is common in the earlier stages. I had a relative who went very senile at the end of her life, and she started out with those "confused moments", only to completely regain her faculties within a few minutes. By the end, she couldn't have a single coherent conversation. Was sad to watch.

It is if people keep electing you.

Robert Byrd was a senator for over 50 years I believe, and Stromboli Thurmond wasn't far behind.

Not only do we need to get rid of Trump but also the people who enabled him.

There were many dems in the house at the time that were willing to make the deal.
Some Republicans are now willing to concede on employer immunity, which is new, but McConnell still isn't. So this is not the same deal as before. And it's even smaller than the Republicans were insisting on before, so the Democrats have conceded further on that. Then there is the administration's proposal which is different from either the Democrats or Republicans. Some moderates have got together on a compromise, but so far McConnell is not on board, so it's simply not accurate to say the Democrats are blocking anything. The Republicans are equally responsible.
CALLED IT: McConnell and Senate Democrats will not accept the bipartisan compromise that some more centrist members of both parties have been working on.

Good, let them all work through Christmas.

Which party is obstructing a relief bill again? Hint: It's not Pelosi or her party.

Yep, he’s a piece of shit too. See how easy it is to hold someone of my own party to account?

Problem is there was a golden opportunity 2 months ago to get a deal done and Pelosi refused for political reasons and you give her a pass....she was focused on the impacts of that decision on the election instead of helping people.

Now it’s back to negotiations with a vaccine right around the corner which will make things more difficult because the Republicans are going to offer even less.

We both know that if the Democrats had the majority in the House and the Senate that there would've been a deal months ago.

The Republicans don't want anymore stimulus money going to the people. They want to help big businesses that donate money to Republicans. Absolutely no money going to blue states. Immunity for employers so the can't be sued if you get coronavirus.

The only way a Joe Biden Presidency can be effective is if they win both U.S. Senate seats in Georgia.

Repubican U.S. Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell is not going to cooperate with Joe Biden. He is only going to say "fuck you" to him and the Democrats for the next four years. Then blame the Democrats for not getting anything done.

Exactly. And Trump is doing everything he can to fuck things up in the last few weeks to given Biden the worst possible starting position.

Republicans play to win at all costs, the country be damned. Democrats play like they're scared to lose. It doesn't work in sports and it doesn't work in politics.
