R.I.P. Druff. Just heard the news through a reliable source. Seriously crazy how many people put off the doctor for no reason.

his brother is a cardiologist, if he's not worried doubt it's anything worth going to another doctor for. They will probably ask the same questions his brother did and then send him on his way.

I should have pseudo-life-threatening pain more often if it's going to bring out the Skatz posters like this.

True story... some troll updated my Wikipedia a few years ago (I think in 2013 or 2014) to say that I died on something like April 3 of that year.

Yet April 3 hadn't arrived yet, so it was basically predicting my death. I forget the cause... I think a heart attack.

It was a dumb prank, and it was quickly undone, but then I started getting legit worried that somehow my life would imitate art and I would croak around April 3, and some asshole would run around the internet bragging about how he called it.

Hopefully, it's nothing, but both of the last two times I thought that I had something that would just probably go away, I wound up taking ambulance rides. Your son needs you and I need the podcast to help me fall asleep to on the East Coast. Don't mess around.

If I were your age, I would get more worried, to be honest. At 44, I am in the "heart attack zone", but still mostly on the outside of it, so I am not too worried, whereas if I were 65 this might freak me out more.

My brother agreed that I made the right decision not to go to the doctor, stating that it was almost surely muscular from everything I described.

BTW, speaking of the radio show, this actually made me think again what would happen to PFA if I died. I really do want it to live on after me, if I were to have a premature death. I am going to have to think about who to appoint as the backup owner of PFA, and I will leave something in my will to pay for it for years to come.

I like the idea of the call-to-listen line living on with my voice constantly running, after I'm gone. Almost like turning on TV Land and seeing old actors "living" on the screen despite the fact that they've been in the ground for decades.

Bro no offense but you weigh like 700 lbs and your father died from a heart attack at 52. How old are you?
I'm 50. I know I need to lose weight and have lost 40 pounds so far this year.

My dad had a higher genetic risk than me ( he was my adoptive father) and although slim, he drank and smoked. He was also stressed, and essentially worked himself to death.

I don't drink or smoke, and manage stress reasonably well, so if I can get the weight down then all is good.

Take an Advil...if the pain gets better = muscle strain

If it doesn't, go get a simple EKG from a general practitioner.

I woke up with real bad chest pain once when I was 28. I freaked out and went to the ER. They made me sit for 4 hours and wait. By the time a doctor saw me I felt fine. They did an EKG, confirmed I was fine, said it was probably anxiety, and sent me on my way.

I did some research on the net myself and determined it was heartburn. I had been drinking a ton of coke at that time and eating a ton of fast food, so made sense. But in the moment I was definitely scared shitless.

Also, when hospital sent me the medical bill it was $600. LOL. Luckily, my copay was only $50.
