Lets say he decides to go ahead with the poker site. His daughter 20 years from now is back in the states and wants to get married. What if the whole thing blows over and no charges are brought against him. Do they need a judgement against him or can they still arrest him without any sentence imposed on him while he is in abstentia?

If there are no charges, he can return, as the statute of limitations will be long over.

However, if they charge and convict him in absentia, then he can be shipped off to prison if he sets foot on US soil.

He can always buy his freedom later on, like that Dikshit dude from PartyPoker.

Why wasn't Micon at least detained for 24 hrs giving the NGC time to analysis the stuff taken from Micons house? Seem like sloppy police work. They had probable cause or a search warrant would not have been signed off by a judge. imo, Micon seem's scared in his 5 minute video from his location in Antigua...

I still think that perhaps they had enough evidence to search but not enough to charge.

It's also possible that the main goal was to shut the whole thing down, and while they still plan to file charges, they aren't that worried if it turns into a fugitive on the run situation.

I would think at this point Micon is fairly well off. He was 50% owner of seals, and he was talking about bitcoin when it was like 10 bucks.

As for going to Antigua, it's not a bad idea now because it really doesn't change anything for him as far as possible charges are concerned. However, when/if charges are laid, then it's a different story. It's more than just pissing the government off. It's another crime in and of itself.

In terms of his video, it was a bit ridiculous. To act like he was doing nothing wrong but just a victim of a "police state" is juvenile. And to say that they "stole my stuff" is downright idiotic. In the 1980s, a hacker friend of mine got busted. He was a minor, but that didn't stop local police from surrounding his house with guns drawn, handcuffing him, and taking all of his shit.

This was someone with zero criminal history, like most teenage hackers at the time.

He also hadn't done anything that serious, and in fact charges were ultimately dropped (and not because of any technicality).

In 1993, Heidi Fleiss was arrested for her prostitution ring. While this situation was more serious and much more high profile than the teenage hacker I knew, they also surrounded her home with guns and overdid the whole thing.

Police will defend these tactics of simply exercising caution that the suspect won't attack them during the search, but the funny thing is that you won't have nearly the same number of armed officers involved if you call 911 and report an actual violent crime occurring.

So, in short, 10 cops showing up with guns during the search is overkill, but fairly standard operating procedure.

A friend of mine who went to Penn State was friends there with a local small time pot dealer.....the cops used to "raid" his apartment once per month. 1) I never called him out on it publicly because I thought it would seem in bad taste considering he was my best friend at one point and with the falling out and all. Micon owned 50% of seals since day 1 (as many of you knew) The chariman, marketing ruse was intended to protect him from exactly what happened on Feb 11th.

2) He offered me a stake in seals (as this was going on during the last year plus of our friendship)

3) He got his ownership by convincing the sole owner that in exchange for half, he would blow up the site with his marketing, celebrity status in vegas etc.

4) Don't remember dollars but I was invited to buy a piece as an investor, not be gifted one. I don't remember the exact numbers but it was a little upwards of 15k

5) I declined. Honestly, not because of the fear of a raid, rather than not thinking it was a good investment

6) Micon loves the wsop. We use to have silly conversations about how much money some one would have to pay him to never be able to come back to the US and play in a WSOP event. It was upwards of 10 million every time the subject was broached.

7) I do truly feel sorry that his little girl had to witness this, but a 2 years old wont remember this and thankfully will not leave permanent trauma.

8) I last saw Micon Feb 3 at the Venetian. I got moved to his table (a new table started right before reg ended). He was in the 1, I was in the 4. We never acknowledged each other nor did at any time we "play at one another"

I do truly believe Micon loves her to death and I have been told by others who are close, Martha is a great mother. Def going to be hard going forward.
