Dude alerted the league to the email. Obviously he thought what he wrote wasn't appropriate in a business environment.

I'm sure the price Sterling got for the clippers didn't hurt matters at all either. A lot easier to say "Sorry" and sell the team when you see multiple billions being thrown around for teams now. If guy knows this email is gonna come out, fuck it, he tells the league himself, comes out looking martyr-ish to people like Pooh who see "black society" ruining everything, and pockets some serious dough like he never imagined in the process.
