Well well well, looks like DF aka Diamond Flush could be advancing from Subject Poker to Pokerstars. She denies it but it looks as if there are many sites reporting she is signing with Pokerstars. I have seen 2 particular people from Subject poker claim over and over their work on the FTP thing wasn't to to advance them forward in the poker industry. If it was then so be it.

Fraud # 1 from Subject Poker is NoahSd, who is a guy who many feel is a journalist with integrity. Maybe he does have integrity. Maybe he doesn't. I tend to think he is ok until his fat ego gets in the way.

He certainly published a lot of "must read" stuff that he was handed on a silver platter (god knows why) . But he clearly took the power of being handed player account balances from someone at Pocket Kings or FTP and felt it was his right to publicly put Patrik Antonius balance right out in the open as if he was the sheriff. I'm not saying he was wrong for being given the information but it was clear with the way he handled it that he cannot be trusted.

Maybe Patrik deserved it? maybe he didn't? You make the call.

But in my opinion Noah got a pass here because of the backlash all of the players had against full tilt. To me , he showed he was one not to be trusted ever with any information "particularly " sensitive information that was meant to be private. It is one thing to be shown such information as poker player account balances and it is another to take that information into your own hands and make it public because you are pissed at something some one says. Note to everyone, never let your beefs get mixed up with your work.

I'm not sure but I think this guys main objective is to open a security company of some sort? Or do security for poker sites? Good luck if you trust this guy with the keys to your company but always remember if he gets in a feud with one of your customers he may go off on the handle for his own piece of mind. Maybe he would be a good fit with Lock Poker?

But back to the original reason of the post. I just read a big backlash from df on some guy on 2+2 who potentially outed her as a a new hired Stars employee(supposedly guy says links are floating around with this). Don't know and I don't care but she seems very defensive.

Maybe she is hired maybe she isn't , and if she is then good for her. If these are rumors than they are rumors. But if true Bravo to DF for work and you earned the spot. If she turned the position down then good for her for staying true to her true journalism routes and not selling out to some poker company

When Subject Poekr closed shop I wrote an article (mainly praising the site's contributions) where I stated that the closure shows how investigative journalism in poekr is not a profitable venture. Noah responded and the follwong exchange occured:

    NOAH

“Unfortunately, the site proved that this type of news is not as interesting to the general poker playing population”

    How so?

    ME

    Hi Noah,

To put it bluntly: If it was worthwhile finacially you would have continued doing it, no? The average poker fan could care less about the fiancial details of Full Tilt; the hardcore players and players with money on Full Tilt definitely found your site a worthwhile read.

Investigative journalism (which I applaud you for doing, Haley Hintze as well) is time-consuming and difficult, not to mention it limits your content to a narrow space of the poker world.

    NOAH

We didn’t set out to make money. We made no effort to make money. Therefore we didn’t make money.

That’s certainly not evidence that the news wasn’t interesting to the poker community. We got tons of traffic.
    ME

That was my point. The news was extremely interesting to the hardcore poker community, which is a fairly small group in the grand scheme of things. The news you provided was uninteresting to the causal poker player/fan. Probably shouldn’t waste any more time on a small throwaway line in the middle of the article I do appreciate what you did at S:P especially knowing it wasn’t likely to be profitable
This [the bold above] is the biggest load of BS ever propogated, considering they parlayed that site into a security company. Yeah, maybe the site didn't make dick, but they had long-term financial plans based on the site.

I don't know who is source was or why they were handing him sensitive info, but this guy has proven time and time again to have a holier than thou attitude, when the truth is he has fucked up not only with posting Patrik's info, but also throwing the Merge Network under the bus with his article saying a DOJ seizure is coming soon (never happened and he never retracted his statement) with the laughable caveat that perhaps his article may cause it not to happen! Instead Merge saw a rush of cashouts for like two weeks; way to go Noah.

It seems odd the info they got their hands on and I wouldn't doubt that they were being bankrolled from the get go; kind of like a congressman who goes to work for wall street or a health care company when he retires.

I didn't parlay the site into a security company. Thomas and I put off starting our security company to start the site because, after Black Friday, we felt like somebody should've done it so it might as well be us. We didn't expect it to go as long as it did. Then, we started our security company back up and shut down the site.

If I wanted to encourage poker sites to hire me to do security consulting, the last plan I ever would've tyhought of woudl've been "Why don't I spend 9 months publishing leaks from poker sites and then see if they trust me with security issues." I could've instead just continued to do independent security work like I'd been doing, or just e-mailed the sites since I'd already been offered jobs from some of them. Subject: Poker is a black mark on my resume.

So why did you start the site then? Out of the kindness of your heart? As a debt of gratitude to the poker community --the same poker community you look down on and thumb your nose at whenever they are not in 100% agreement with you??? Really, then please tell us; what was it that made you decide to put your business on hold to leak information about poker sites on a brand new website that you have no intention of ever making money on??? When you could have easily done the same on your blog, or on 2+2???

You don't think this sounds a little incredible?

I'm assuming you are doing well for yourself but by no means rich and ready to be the next millionaire/billionaire philanthropist

I started a new site to have one place where all the stuff was? I didn't expect to be doing most of the work myself--It was going to be a bunch of people writing (See our opening post, for example). Then I got pretty obsessed.

That's not really that rare of a story. There are tons of people who put tons of time into websites that don't make any money. I have two blogs that are similar, though certainly smaller scale.

But you specifically said you had no intention of making money, that is not the same as putting time into a site and it simply doesn't end up being profitable.

You should probably just start a thread about it instead of fagging up every thread
It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?

I don't know what to tell you. I'm me. I know what I did because I was present throughout.

I started a website because I felt like it was a good idea. I didn't intend to make any money off of it. I ended up getting a bit obsessed with it, feeling obligated to continue because I was getting lots of information that others weren't. I stayed true to my word and didn't make any money off of it.

Even if I drop the "I'm me, so I know what happened" argument, it's pretty damn clear from what's public that this is exactly what happened: S:P is obviously a black spot on my resume; I never took any ads in spite of the fact that ads would've been worth a good amount of money; nobody's presented any half-credible theory as to what I could have possibly started S:P for except for exactly what I said I started it for; etc.

Anyway, I don't know why I'm arguing with you since I doubt you'll change your mind. It's just sort of surreal to read people on the internet speculating incorrectly about what's going on inside my head.

What's surreal is the fact that you haven't answered my question. I know its hard to guess who has the bigger dick, but your professional expert opinion, is it the sculpted Tony Dunst or the cute and adorable Tom Dwan?

This schtick is pretty old honestly. You respond to a post of mine but then all of a sudden can't read my rebuttable. No one actually believes you aren't reading everything I write, lard ass.
China used to be pretty obess and a year or so ago he started running and working out. Knocked pounds off like Jay and is still going gorillas. I'm not sure what his goal is but you don't go from obess to ripped that fast.

BTW -- I think everyone agrees that YOUR schtick was old since like DD.

and a good day to you

No, you could sway me, because I haven't come to any conclusions on why you created the site oe what your motivations were.

Nobody speculated why you did it; I asked you to explain why you did it. and I asked for a clarification when you contradicted yourself. I still don't understand what your goal was with the site and I think virtually anyone you ask will find it odd that you basically started the site with no intention of ever making money from it, and then all of a sudden you shut it down and go to work on a security company, now as a high-profile investigator of sorts aftere building up your public profile through S:P. All this while you have a highly-placed inside source somewhere feeding you sensitive information out of seemingly nowhere --you have to admit, or at least understand why, this doesn't really pass the smell test for a lot of people.

nobody's presented any half-credible theory as to what I could have possibly started S:P for except for exactly what I said I started it for; etc.
There shouldn't need to be theories if your intentions were as pure as the driven snow as you are claiming, you should just be able to rationally explain what was going on at the time without divulging any sensitive material. Instead we got, to paraphrase you, "a whim that turned into an obsession". It just appears that you are leaving massive chunks of the story out and want us to take your word for it that "it's just you", and you weren't there and I was type of reasoning.
