FTR I'm interested in fostering debate on this topic, not excusing or endorsing police brutality.
I'm sure as fuck not down with the police dog actions in this video. Regardless of this dude's prior actions, 6 cops should have been enough to take him into custody. The dog was way over the top, and a good example of why the whole concept of dogs in law enforcement is suspect.
Hopefully Garrett will join in as well. Wouldn't want to miss his take

I will be watching this thread closely for all the intelligent debate you will have fostered, Tony

Hey "seriously sereous", I heard Louisville (Churchill Downs) plans to expand its online gambling venture, and add upwards of 100 highly trained employees to its online gambling venture. Where in this do you fit, from what I understand they want amazing credentials for these positions. Are you concerned yet?
You come from the biggest online laundering community in poker 2+2. You have zero attributes that are conducive to one who should be able to have an input in the poker world. Other than your cool status on 2+2 (LOL).
I am calling you out, and Churchill Downs in Louisville, to thoroughly vette you, and make sure you are the kind of person they want representing their company over the long-run. In a legal and regulated pure online gambling market.
You belittled some of the biggest names in poker, and tried to vilify some unknowns, you have no place in this game, and quite frankly, the beautiful game of poker has no place for a person like you!
Since when has it been OK for the police to use deadly force whether it be their gun or gang beat down that either leaves people dead or retarded for the rest of their life? You see these videos all of the time. I understand these cops are under a lot of pressure dealing with a lot of scum bags, but that is no excuse when dealing with people who pose no threat. They are being paid for their jobs. Shitty pay or not does not matter! They are not forced to be police officers. If they can't take it, then they need to turn in the badge and find a new job.
Whenever something like this happens there are a lot of people who believe the victim should have complied with the officers. In some cases the guy has done nothing wrong. Sometimes he is just misidentified as a suspect. This is supposed to be a free country and no we are not supposed to comply with police officers just because they said so. I'm not some wing nut idealist. I know that if in this situation you better comply or else face their wrath; however, that does not mean people should support it! This country is now sadly a police state.
Given the amount of officers they had on site this guy should not have been assaulted whatsoever. He was no serious threat to anybody there with them having them out numbered like they did. Remember innocent until proven guilty? Until he is proven guilty in the court of law he deserves NO punishment. It is for the court to deliver his punishment once he is found guilty. That is not the job of the officer(s). They should only resort to physical force when they are at threat so that they are not assaulting him. They would then be acting in self defense. Officers are constantly assaulting suspects with their weapons or fists. They are rarely acting in self defense.
Officers today are running wild and each time they act out wrongly there are a large number of sheep Americans who look at the officers in all situation as heroes doing what they needed to do while the punk they beat to death got what he deserved. Like I said before if they can't handle their job, then they should turn in their badges. The officers get such shitty salaries, because any jack off meat head is qualified for the job and the American people blindly support their actions.

Also, for those who do think he was resisting arrest and deserved his beating. It is a natural physical reaction to put up your arms or even try to stop somebody when they forcefully try to take you down. That does not mean you deserve to be gang beaten to death by cops. It won't be long before we are training grade school kids on how to properly comply with state authority. A lot of Americans seem to think that ALL police officers are heroes who can do no wrong. In reality, they are not. Most of them work that job, because they are on a power trip and/or have no other life skills to make even $40-50k a year doing anything else. Most police officers are not exception people. In a lot of cases they are under achievers and that's why they turned to the police force in the first place.
