Unfortunately this thread is pretty much it. The program is fairly confusing, but if you read post #1 here, you can kinda figure things out.

But I'll go over a few quick important things:

    1) You want to earn your status at or near the beginning of the year, because it always lasts TWO calendar years plus 1 month past when you earn it. So a status earned on 1/1/26 and 12/31/26 will BOTH last until 1/31/28. This makes it possible to only have to re-earn your status once every 2 years.

    2) Tier multipliers are now very important, for obvious reasons.

    3) There is a HUGE law of diminishing returns after earning base Diamond. I'd suggest stopping there.

    4) Tier level does NOT influence your comps. The comp calculation is completely different, and based upon recent and semi-recent play, among other factors.

    5) I would recommend base Diamond for anyone who is going to play a lot at WSOP (or stay at Caesars properties regardless of whether or not they play events).

    6) You should play video poker to get there. See the list of the best games on page #1 of this thread. Vegas isn't a great video poker market, but it may not be worth your time to go to a place like Tahoe where it's better.

So this is what I'd suggest:

Go to a Caesars property between January 12-18, swipe in to the kiosk and make sure to activate your 10x multiplier.

Play one of the video poker variants I listed on page #1. Keep the strategy handy (see the links) for tough spots.

Earn 1400 tiers in one day (with a "day" meaning from 6am-5:59am). The multiplier will make that into 14,000. The daily bonus (for playing 1000 base tiers) will be another 1000, taking you to 15,000. Congrats! You are now Diamond, and will stay there for 2 years.

What do you get for Diamond?

    - Free parking (though that actually starts at Platinum, the tier below)

    - No resort fees (huge if you stay at Caesars properties)

    - Priority lines everywhere, including WSOP

    - Minor room upgrades if available (but not to suites)

    - 1pm checkout instead of 11am in Vegas, and late checkout in other markets as well

    - $100 food voucher (once per year)

    - Two free tickets per month to the High Roller wheel

    - Some exceptions made to policy if you ask for it

If none of the above excites you, don't bother. To me, this stuff is valuable so I don't mind the moderate cost of earning Diamond. Remember, it lasts for over 2 years if you earn it in January.

Are we sure that this tier multiplier applies to video poker? Oftentimes VP is either excluded from these types of promos, or earns at a substantially reduced rate.

Yes, it applies fully to video poker. Only a few of the promos have been excluding it lately, but never the 10x in recent years.

Note that the earnings are capped here, so I think you are going to get the 10x at most on like 4k base tiers (for a total of 40k tiers). I am not 100% sure about the 40k number, so don't quote me on that, but it's in that neighborhood. They don't want you getting too close to 150k this way and then trying to make Seven Stars (and subsequently get rejected, which pisses people off).

Basically Caesars knows that all of their games suck in the Vegas market, so they are happy to dilute Diamond further if you're going to run a minimum 14k worth of coin-in.

Adding more Diamond members costs them relatively little, and they're way beyond giving a shit if the Diamond lines are longer than they used to be.

If they're going for short-medium term revenue bumps, as El Dorado loves to do, this makes it happen.

    Quick trip report:

I went to Flamingo on Tuesday. It wasn't too busy, but I heard from another player that it had been crazy the day before.

I played Super Double Double Bonus (98.6%) for about 90 minutes. I ran very hot, hitting quad deuces and quad aces, and was up about $900.

However, as this thread mentioned, it's a max bet of $1 and the TCs accumulate very slowly. Since I was so far ahead of expectation, and I am not a patient man, I decided to go to the bar and play Ultimate X. I was accepting a bigger house edge in exchange for getting this over with faster. According to my mental napkin math, I would probably roughly break even by the time I hit Diamond.

Unfortunately (lol) I ended up winning so much money at Ultimate X that I decided to go celebrate instead of continuing to play

I think I was about halfway to diamond when I quit.

When you activate the 10x promo at the kiosk, does it apply for the whole week? Or only for that day?

If I can go back and finish the job, I'm happy to do so. But if I blew my chance, I can live with this result too
