Dr. Neil Stone is an infectious diseases doctor who normally makes a lot of logically sound, very good tweets to counter crackpots.

He typically targets anti-vax retards, including other doctors who use their MD as false credibility to push stupidity.

I have liked all of his tweets I've seen in the past month, until the one above. The ending is incorrect.

Vaccines were useful to prevent death, but they did NOT help get us out of the pandemic. The pandemic ended due to the Omicron mutation, which changed COVID to more flu-like in danger.

Vaccines had nothing to do with that mutation. Even with no vaccine, we would be in the same spot today (and for the past 3 1/2 years) with COVID. It was destined to end pandemic status with the Omicron mutation.

It's a fact that the vaccines WERE helpful in a large reduction of deaths in 2021 and early 2022. By that metric, it was a success. However, it had absolutely nothing to do with the end of COVID as a pandemic, and I'm surprised an intelligent expert like Stone is pushing such BS.

Everyone is in a panic because of the "vaccines cause heart-related death" news which just came out.

However, there's nothing to panic about, and the news is both overblown and nothing new.

It all stems from a recent Stanford study which basically restates what has been known for years -- the mRNA COVID vaccines cause, in rare cases, a heart condition called "myocarditis", which usually gets better and does NOT typically cause death.

Most of the vaccine myocarditis cases occurred in boys and young men under 30. Men over 30 and all females are at a much lower risk.

The most important thing to know is that COVID itself also brings on myocarditis (again, rarely), so it's not like you can avoid it by just not taking the vaccine. It is believed that the vaccine causes a higher, though not greatly higher, incidence of myocarditis than COVID itself, in the demographic of males under 30.

Again, while some very rare deaths occurred due to vaccine-related myocarditis, almost everyone else eventually recovers. Also, these tend to happen fairly quickly, so if you took a vaccine in 2021, you don't have to worry about it now.



In short, this entire situation, while basically repeating old information, highlights both left and right wing retardia when it came to COVID.

Left-wing retards stated that the vaccine was "safe and effective for everyone", and that you shouldn't have had any concern when taking it. That was false, and it was obvious to me the whole way that it was false. Obviously injecting a vaccine researched for only a few months is a risk, as there is no long or medium-long term data on its after-effects, nor was there enough time to sufficiently study all of the possible negative side effects. They also said you should give it to your kids, even though it was clear from the start that kids were not dying from COVID, except for some super-rare outliers. People who refused to give it to their kids were often shamed. In addition, retards on the left refused to agree that having COVID itself made the vaccine pointless, which contradicts all knowledge of past vaccines in human scientific history. The vaccine became a status symbol.

Right-wing retards wanted to believe the entire way that the vaccine was deadly and dangerous, whereas COVID was just another flu. This thinking killed tons of right wing morons over 45 who refused to take the vax in 2021 when COVID was actually dangerous to middle-aged and elderly people. They are constantly looking for any "news" like this to "prove" they were right all along -- when they actually weren't.

Left wing retards still believe that the vaccines got us out of the pandemic. That's not what happened. The Omicron mutation got us out of the pandemic.

Right wing retards still believe that COVID was never more than the flu, and they point to how today it's similar to the flu. They refuse to understand that today's COVID is very different from 2021's COVID, which was far far deadlier.



What amazes me is how the vast majority of people fall into one of the two camps above regarding COVID. Very few are willing to think critically and see the fault on both sides.
