The Patriots still just seem very fraudy - reminiscent of the 13-3 2016 Cowboys team that formed a huge hype train with rookie Dak against a laughably easy schedule. They of course got bounced in their first playoff game. If I remember correctly, they went 2-3 against teams that finished with a winning record, 2-4 if you count the playoff loss to the Packers.

Who is going to bounce them though?

Look at the AFC. There is no dominant team there. Every team in that conference has had some degree of fail, aside from the Pats, who have largely feasted upon bad teams.

I have little faith in Denver. Every game they seem to show that it's a struggle, even if they ultimately win.

As I posted in the Wagering thread, I think the Chargers take the game tonight and put a fork in the Chiefs.

^^ interesting. but i heard repeatedly throughout the year how easy the 49ers schedule was. realizing things change but that narrative went through week 10 at least.

The fact that there's a Monsters Inc football game on ESPN 2 at the same time with the same teams is crazy.

Apparently it's the same game on a small delay.

    Who is the intended audience?

Chargers apparently don't have a very big fanbase in LA. I realize they just got here recently, but half the crowd (or more?) is rooting for Philly.

Considering that Philly is nowhere near LA, that's pretty bad.

Yes, I know a lot of Philly and south Jersey people moved here over the years (my parents moved from north Jersey, in fact), but this shit doesn't happen at Dodgers games.

I'm surprised this is news to you. Its been the running theme since they moved. "Chargers have 17 road games a year" Their only "real" home games are when they play a team with a combination of weak fan base and (kind of) location. Vs. like the Jaguars, Texans, Panthers, etc.

I didn't watch last night, but I have noticed at other games I've watched with Chargers at home, the networks will kind of mute the crowd/not show as many wide crowd shots.

A large percentage of San Diego based fans pretty much told them to fuck off, rightfully so.

Amazing they thought that following the Donald Sterling era Clippers was a proper way to run a franchise. Have no fans and no stadium (note that the Rams own sofi). Might as well be the London Chargers 5 years from now.

Galen is doing more than pacing.

    He's misleading.

I got tired of it and called it out on X.

This angered some people who felt I was ruining Galen's inspiring story, but for all we know, he could have started with 500 entries.

For sure he had tickets in at least 4 different names when there were 45 left, and he had 5 live entries. That was proven earlier in this thread.

To be clear, Galen isn't cheating, nor is he breaking any rules, nor do I think he's lying.

But he didn't get there the same way normal players did, and that needs to be considered.

It also somewhat taints the entire contest when people can do this shit.

I didn't understand the move, either. But I didn't realize it had gotten this bad, especially following a fairly good season, and again a fairly good one this year.

It's more understandable why the Raiders have so few home fans at the games, because they've been bad for a long time, and have been terrible since arriving in Vegas. Also, Vegas is a tiny market, yet is very tourist-heavy.
