Believe me, I Canadian. You cannot bring down Trump without a land mine or a plate of very bad mussels.

No amount of evidence will surpass/equate damaging his time as President as that time erodes.

Releasing the Epstein files will only confirm what we already know.

Former President Bill Clinton had sexual relations with over a couple of dozen girls the 27 times he went to Epstein Island.

Jeffrey Epsein is an intellience agent.

But look, I didn't ever touch any of these girls, and I did once ask Ghislaine to put a stop to it, so that's a positive, right?"

There's just no way to spin this to where he looks good, so Trump just wants to avoid it.

    that's it? seriously?

that's why you think he has sunk his reputation and support of so many? that's why he's put all this effort, lied openly about the reasons why he's not releasing them, many times, had his staff lie, had the fbi spend thousands of hours scouring the files to remove reference to him, etc.?

come on dd, you are far smarter and more intuitive than that.
Anyone smart and intuitive will look at what those emails from Epstein DON'T say, and you can infer from there.

If Epstein felt he really had something on Trump beyond "he knew about it", he'd have said so in those emails. He didn't. Instead he focused on utilizing the fact that Trump knew in order to get favors later.

The rule about blackmail and implied blackmail is that you always use your strongest stuff. If you helped me murder someone and bury the body, my leverage on you is NOT "He knew I killed someone and said nothing".

Note that Trump originally promised to release the Epstein files. He wouldn't have done this if he knew he'd go back on it, because he knew that would backfire. At the time, I think he figured he'd be a hero for releasing them, even if he took a little bit of a hit for knowing about Epstein's crimes and staying quiet. He then probably had fellow Republicans come to him who claimed they'd be loyal to him if he did NOT release the files, and that was too good of an offer to refuse. At the same time, he probably realized that he might not escape it as unscathed as he first thought. How does he explain to the American people that he stayed friends with a pedo and underage girl trafficker, despite being fully aware of what was going on?

In the end, it was safer for him just to push away the Epstein matter, even though it angered some of his base.

Let's stop and think for a second.

Let's say for argument's sake that Trump's "hours at my [Epstein's] house" with Virginia were alone, and the two of them had some sort of sexual contact.

Why would Trump ever be a "dog that barks"? Wouldn't he want that kept quiet? Why would Epstein find it interesting enough to note that Trump never reported on himself?

    The context is very clear.

Epstein knew that Trump knew things, but was finding it curious that Trump was staying quiet despite that. He emailed Ghislaine to note that Trump is the "dog that hasn't barked" despite having seen what was going on with Virginia, and despite having nothing to hide himself. He mentioned it to Ghislaine in the email, and she concurred that it was interesting.

How could any other interpretation make sense, especially given what we saw in the subsequent emails?

we disagree, strongly. no matter, the emails that are already coming out damn him, and dozens of others, and then will damn our institutions. just wait until the rest of it is released. then imagine all that has been purposefully destroyed already. our entire government is complicit in this and its coverup, inter alia.

My guess is there's plenty of more smoke to suggest Trump raped children but nothing concrete.

Protecting an Israeli intelligence agent who serially raped children is more likely.

    Oh, and probably nothing.

Trump’s best pal was Jeffrey Epstein and his mentor was Roy Cohn.

The latter informed Trump’s response about the former.

He may even have had his best friend murdered. Roy nods head.
