I realize the guy is young and there's probably only limited files on him, but even I have this capability to some extent, and I only have a fraction of the access the FBI does.
It just doesn't make sense that in 2025 the FBI can just say "lol maybe that's not his real name". They should be able to take that apart within like 2 minutes.
Reminds me a bit of how we were waiting (and never got) the whole financial picture of Stephen Paddock, and they were acting like it was going to require a lot of research. No, it shouldn't have required more than a few minutes of research, and of course that info was never released.

I don't know why everyone keeps ignoring my posts about Omar and Skye Valadez.
Skye Valadez is who 4chan favors as the suspect, but I'm not convinced. I wouldn't be surprised if it's true, but there are some holes in the theory. Skye looks less like the suspect than Bullhorn Guy does, and the song "Charlie Kirk Dead at 31", while eerily prophetic, could also be explained that he was 31 when the song was written.
There's also the question as to why Skye hasn't been arrested yet if it's him. Surely the FBI must be aware of this theory by now.
If Skye or this Omar character turn out to be the killer, I will be able to take credit for the 1-2 prediction punch of the trans shooter and Cade Horton the 35-1 Rookie of the Year, so part of me hopes one of them is it.

apparently there was an absolute legend head FBI agent in utah and kash fired her because she was the wrong color and a woman and holy shit i wish i could say that wasnt true.
that said a lot of the 'evidence' of it being skye is literally people creating AI 'enhancements' of the shooter image to look like him so theres that to consider.
but if i was skye and i wasnt the shooter i would be shouting it to the world. instead his online accounts have mysteriously vanished. not a great look.

Normally I would agree that Skye vanishing rather than publicly denying it would be the sign of a guilty man.
However, given that he wrote and published a song last month called "Charlie Kirk Dead at 31", plus he lives in local area, plus looks somewhat like the shooter, it might be hard to convince people he's innocent, absent the arrest of another man.
Kind of reminds me of the days on Pokerstars where you'd get to see showdown for free if you disconnected, even if there were remaining betting streets. One time me and this other regular were talking major trash to one another, I was dealt KK, 3-bet him, and the flop came A high. Right at that moment, I lost internet for about a minute. The hand ran out, he had AQ, and he won, making less off me than had I stayed connected (this was limit holdem, so a fold there wasn't as easy as NL).
Right when I reconnected, and saw the hand was over, I knew there was no convincing him it wasn't on purposes. He said, "I always knew you were an asshole, but I never thought you were a cheater, too." I replied, "That was a real disconnect, but I'm not going to argue it, because I know there's no way you'll believe me given the circumstances."
