My gut reaction to his shooting was I’m shocked someone found him relevant enough to shoot. Like he was well past his cultural zenith. He was over 30 now and was just the weird dude on campuses.
Whatever strong positions or ideas he ever had, he’d immediately backtrack on the next day. Like he was outraged at the Epstein is a hoax story and bombing Iran for exactly a day and then immediately brought back under heel. He was a company man. Lot of used car salesmen Matt Gaetz vibes, but more moral than Gaetz. But greasy opportunist in the same vein. He was a big stop the steal guy while I found it hard to believe he was ever that dumb to truly believe it. Staying on the MAGA gravy train seemed his only real passion.
I wasn’t happy, I wasn’t sad for anything beyond his kids because he’s no loss to the world like most of us, but in general, why this dude was my only strong opinion? He’s more important in death than he ever was alive. Poor mistake to kill him on that front if you really hated him that much. Someone made a martyr of a milquetoast C student type.
Or you know, hitting just about anything in that area, except an ear is not going to end well.

One potential problem here is that this may have been perfectly planned, to where the shooter had a perfect escape route to get out of the area, into a car where no cameras are around, and drive out of Utah.

If this was a professional hit, it might be very tough to ever catch who did it.
JFC, this "had to be a military sniper" shit is getting to be pretty fucking annoying. Equally annoying that some think the shooter was so good because he hit that artery spot on, but never considered that the shooter might have been aiming for a different spot and the bullet drifted there.

You know what it takes for someone to shoot that accurate at 200?
It takes someone having the proper rifle and scope, and the knowledge of the proper round to accompany it. Just about any experienced and seasoned rifle hunter could do it imo
Other than that, it is practicing and sighting in the scope which of course is imperative.
I just got done a week ago with a bunch of my friends sighting in rifles for the upcoming deer season. shot our guns and grilled out. Had a great time.
Our standard was shooting from 100yds. It was no problem to hit something the size of an aluminum can at 100. We were even shooting a few canisters of tannerite at 100, and they are about half the height of an aluminum can
Some of us even backed up to 200yds at times and could easily hit a target area the size of a cantaloupe. And this was us being laid back and not taking it tremendously seriously.
