Really? Is he reaching them through churches or something? I’m around kids that age a lot and I know Fuentes has made an impact. I can’t imagine what appeal a Charlie Kirk has to a kid. Like I didn’t find him entertaining. sonatine is making some satirical and controversial posts, but he's staying on topic and not trolling anyone in the thread. That's why I haven't removed any of his posts.
Charlie Kirk is relevant because he has a wide range of appeal. He wasn't an unapologetic asshole like Fuentes, and he wasn't a nerdy intellectual like Ben Shapiro. He's also been around the right wing social media space for a long time. His access to Trump also made him quite influential policy-wise.
This really is a huge deal. The conservatives I've spoken to about it have expressed shock and sadness -- like they haven't even fully processed yet that this happened and he's never coming back.
If this shooting was by a right winger, the story will die fairly fast.
If it was by a left winger, which is more likely, buckle up.
If it was by a trans, double buckle.
I am curious how the shot was so accurate, right into his neck, from what had to be a long distance (hence nobody witnessing the shooter). That really narrows down who had the capability to pull this off.
Political violence is a cancer. Solid leadership could keep political violence from becoming another school shooting cultural phenomenon.
I have marked the United Health shooter as political on my scorecard btw.
That said, the (R) Utah governor’s press conference was outstanding. He’s a unicorn sadly. Buckle up.
