A few years ago I used my Wyndam Credit Card to get Diamond Status online at CZR. I stopped into Council Bluff's, Iowa where CZR has 2 properties, Harrah's and Caesar's. I picked up the card and ran a few thousand in action on some solid machine plays. I downloaded the CZR app and found room comp offers. However, I lost interest. My Diamond status expired early the next year. But the room offers still kept appearing on the app.
So it moved on into 2025 and the room comp offers were still there. So this time around I used my Wyndam Hotels Diamond Status to get the CZR Diamond Card again. In March I stopped into the Horseshoe St. Louis for a couple days but ran only about 900 points on the slots ($4500 wager).
This past May I decided to cruise the CZR properties in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and Missouri since I could get all the room nights comped, no resort fee and free parking, plus the points defray the cost of meals.
I wanted to see how long it would take to run a 75K wager doing nothing but solid machine plays as I found them. And do it only at my leisure. I don't get in a hurry to do anything these days. At my age I take life slow and easy. Trying to work a 5X multiplier was not feasible on slots anyway. Staying in positive territory on the machines limits the amount of action one can run.
So I averaged about a 5K a day wager. Since I already had 900 points from March it took me 14 days on the May trip to get to 15,000 points (75K wager). That locked me into Diamond Status until Feb 1, 2027.
What I learned from this is that when 2026 rolls around I don't have to get in a hurry to run another 75K wager to extend my Diamond Status until feb 2028. Since it only takes around two weeks of play to do it, I can do it a couple days here and a couple days there throughout the year to keep the Diamond Status going.
Oh, and I also learned that CZR gives 5K a day slot gamblers all the room comp they can handle.
