The reason Vegas is on decline is because the proliferation of gambling, that is just the way it is. I just could not imagine taking a 5 hour flight to Vegas in 2025 and spend $250 a night hotel on the Strip with massive crowds, when I can use Marriott points and take an Uber and have the same experience locally. My wife and myself drove like 90 minutes away a few months ago and stayed at a Marriott Courtyard 3 blocks from a casino and used the shuttle service. Got there at noon, drank, gambled, went to the steak house, gambled and drank some more and shuttled back to the hotel at 11pm and passed out, and home the next morning by 10:00am. Versus taking a long flight, with connections, bums all over the place yeah no thanks. Maybe I am just getting older but to fly half a day to gamble when I can simply drive a couple hours and stay at a hotel with reward points, well you get the idea. And spare me the entertainment factor, most Vegas shows suck and I am like most you just want the fucking show to end so you can get back in the pits. The last show I went to was Siskel and Ebert or whatever those two magic guys are and it was painful to sit through.
