    It’s someone who does not appreciate free speech.

    You cannot have misinformation laws and free speech at the same time.

    In 1990 I debated with fellow Republicans at college about why free speech was so important.

    At the time, it was the Democrats fighting to protect it, and one of the few areas where I agreed with them.

    Was nice to see my own party catch up with this idea, 25 years or so later.

    And Democrats have regressed to dislike free speech, especially young Democrats.

    This is one of several reasons why the modern left has become illiberal and regressive, and they don’t even realize it.

    Honestly the 2020s were a gigantic step backward for free speech. It scares me how many otherwise intelligent people are supportive of censorship for the people’s own good.

    Ironically many of those same people speak of fear of fascism. I tell them that fascism cannot exist in a free speech society. If you oppose free speech, you are setting up the building blocks for true fascism to rise.

    And just to add most uk people do whatever they want so long as it's not harming others which misinformation can.

    Our Uk government grow cannabis in Norfolk, they have one of the biggest legal medical cannabis farms in Europe, we can't grow it but we can buy and sell seeds through Europe legally, Our rights to grow weed like they have don't exists, We can't do anything about it so we do what we want, I grow weed, I actually have one right now in my bathroom cupboard and the only thing that will happen if i get caught is an hour in the cells and slap on the wrist and told not to do it again.

    However much we complain about having the right to do this the government just shrug us off and won't allow it.


    I don't feel violated just because i can't do what i want just like the gov do, I just get on with it and ignore them self creating my own freedom of whatever.
