Daily Wire Co-CEO Jeremy Boreing kicked downstairs

Jeremy Boreing cannot ruin the Daily Wire anymore, from this point forward.

He was the co-CEO of Daily Wire along with.... no, not the guy you're picturing. The second CEO was a man named Caleb Robinson, who now is sole CEO of the company. I'll get to Caleb shortly, and explain why you probably haven't heard of him.

But Jeremy Boering is out. Sort of. At least he's not CEO anymore, and his power at Daily Wire is probably limited going forward.

    I'll start from the beginning...

    ------

Boreing, 46, hails from Texas, and had a lifelong dream to be a famous Hollywood producer and actor. He was especially obsessed with "The Pendragon Cycle" books, and always dreamed of turning it into either a series of movies or television episodes.

Unfortunately, Boreing never made it in Hollywood. In 2007, he co-wrote a film called "Spiral", which made $3000 in the US (that's not a typo), despite starring Amber Tamblyn.

Had it not been for Ben Shapiro, Boreing would be just another middle-aged, failed Hollywood wannabe, and you wouldn't know his name. He luckily struck up a friendship with Shapiro, whose profile was rapidly growing in conservative circles in the early 2010s. Shapiro was the talent, writing intelligent political columns and possessing strong debating and reasoning skills, and was ascending in profile on social media. Boreing took on the role of the business guy, whose (probably weak) Hollywood connections could help bring them mainstream.

Together they got funding for the now-defunct website TruthRevolt in 2013, which had some middling success. In 2015, Boering and Shapiro decided to go a different direction, and started Daily Wire.

But a third person was involved. The aforementioned Caleb Robinson was introduced to Ben and Jeremy by an associate of Dennis Praeger's. Robinson, at the time, worked for Faris Wilks, a politically conservative fracking billionaire. Robinson was able to talk Wilks into giving the three of them $4.7 million to start Daily Wire, and away they went.

Since then, Daily Wire has largely had a blank check to fund its various projects, as Wilks enjoyed their work and felt it was important. For awhile, he didn't care if they made money -- only that Daily Wire put out quality material and advanced a social agenda with which he agreed.

Still, the Daily Wire was a business and meant to be profitable. Mostly through Robinson as a go-between, Boreing pitched Wilks the idea that Daily Wire would one day become a dominant media force. It would eventually rise to be much more than Ben Shapiro and other conservative talking heads on YouTube. It would usher in a new conservative era in Hollywood, putting out both quality theatrical movies with a conservative slant, and excellent children's programming which would knock increasingly woke Disney off its perch.

This never made a lot of sense to me, as it's quite hard to come into Hollywood as an outsider and produce top quality films/TV, which could compete with the films and shows of today. Hollywood has had over a century to hone its craft. It's a lot tougher than it looks.

Indeed, aside from the Matt Walsh documentaries, which were funny, intelligent, and well put together, the non-YouTube content from Daily Wire has been terrible. They had a western starring Gina Carano (remember her?) which bombed and made less than $1000 at the box office. They released a trans-themed comedy called "Lady Ballers", which could have been hilarious (failed male athletes starting a women's basketball team, taking advantage of a loophole allowing trans athletes), but the humor was lame and cringe. Their conservative kids network "Bentkey" was a complete fail, and nobody was interested in it.

They even had a terrible animated series called "Mr. Birchum", again possessing a theme with potential (a boorish, conservative woodshop teacher clashing with the fanatical liberal students, teachers, and administrators), but suffering from poor writing and stilted voice acting. Surprisingly, Adam Carolla created it and played the title role. I'd have thought a naturally funny guy like Carolla would have seen how awful this was, and demanded a rewrite. This was based upon Carolla's Birchum character he used to do on the radio in the '90s and '00s. Anyway, it bombed and has 3.5 stars out of 10 on IMDB. Even the trailer was awful, and I'm a guy who would appreciate a good animated comedy lampooning the libs. I had zero interest to watch it.

Jeremy was able to finally get his Pendragon Cycle series bankrolled by Wilks, and also was working on Daily Wire's own version of Snow White.

Unfortunately, the company was hemorrhaging money. The above entertainment projects, aside from Walsh's, were bringing in just about zero return, yet cost substantial money to make. They were handing out large contracts to their YouTube talent, which came to include outsiders Jordan Peterson, Candace Owens, and almost Steven Crowder. Jeremy, Ben, and Caleb were all paying themselves quite well. The revenue streams were mostly through YouTube and sponsors on those shows, with some coming from Walsh's documentaries, and some from a few other sources. But the company was not profitable, and did not appear to be turning around financially. It seemed to be getting worse.

Things came to a head in 2024 and 2025, involving the high profile departures of Candace Owens and Brett Cooper.

Owens' departure was more understandable. She was blatantly anti-Israel to the point of being anti-Semitic, and clearly she could no longer co-exist with Shapiro. Boreing was stupid to bring Owens on board in the first place (as I noted when she was hired), but her removal was inevitable after the 10/7 Hamas attacks, and her subsequent anti-Israel obsession. This caused a backlash, and Daily Wire lost a lot of cred with its conservative fanbase, as Owens was still popular with many of them.

However, this was a storm they felt they could weather. Owens mainly appealed to the alt-right -- a demographic that Daily Wire was never aiming to please. Many people in the mainstream right -- myself included -- did not care for her, so Daily Wire's main demographic was mostly okay with it. It did result in a lot of vitriol online against Daily Wire -- something you don't want when you're trying to become a dominant conservative giant in the space -- but it seemed like something they could move past.

It was Brett Cooper's December 2024 departure which sealed Boering's fate. Unlike Owens, Cooper was not a divisive or controversial figure. She did not speak out against Israel. She did not do or say anything to turn off any segment of the Daily Wire audience. She was a young, peppy, cheery girl whose views were mainstream conservative, and ran a popular YouTube show entitled "The Comments Section". Cooper was underpaid, as she signed with Daily Wire when she was basically a nobody, and was locked into an unfavorable contract. Steven Crowder even made reference to Cooper's contract during his early 2023 feud with Daily Wire.

When Cooper left, and when it became clear that Boreing was the cause of her departure, many fans turned on Daily Wire and Boreing himself. The fact that Daily Wire attempted to replace Cooper with her former best friend, on the same channel, made people even angrier. "The Comments Section" now gets about 10% of the views it did with Cooper, while Cooper herself has approximately the same audience she once had on Daily Wire, on a brand new channel. Ouch.

But more importantly, this put the largest stake in the heart of Daily Wire. They mostly weathered the Crowder storm of early 2023, and came out on top. They were somewhat able to recover from Candace Owens' firing in early 2024. But Cooper leaving was the final straw for many fans. Many were done with Daily Wire, and many were sick of Boreing.

In fact, people were getting sick of Boreing in general. He was increasingly visible on Daily Wire, despite having no show and no real fan base of his own. He called himself "god-king", which he claimed was a self-effacing joke, but his obvious arrogance and condescension told another story. He came off smarmy and untrustworthy. In short Boering seemed like a jerk with clear psychological issues, whereas Ben Shapiro came off as a nice, down-to-earth, non-threatening, nerdy Jewish guy.

At the same time, Cooper's departure meant the end of the Snow White movie (which she had been slated to star in), and possibly the end of the Pendragon series, where she had a major role.

Finally, things came to an end for Boering. Mostly.

Cooper left partially due to Boreing's refusal to pay her what she felt she was worth to the network at this point.

    But it wasn't just that.

She and Boreing reportedly were having "creative differences" regarding Snow White. Cooper wanted to simply make a good, apolitical movie, in the vein of the 1937 original, but with a modern spin.

Boreing didn't want that. He wanted to pepper it with a lot of conservative propaganda to "own the libs", which he also stated would lead to lots of extra controversy/publicity, and would therefore get a lot more eyeballs on the film.

Cooper felt that Boreing's vision for Snow White was going to make the entire movie into an embarrassing troll job, and she wanted no part of such a thing. In fact, Cooper felt that inserting conservative propaganda was the exact same mistake Disney was making with their version of Snow White, which had a woke message, a Latina playing a clearly white character, and disturbing-looking CGI dwarves. If the point of making Daily Wire's Snow White was because Disney was letting identity politics infect their version, why should Daily Wire's also push the film into the political realm where it didn't belong?

For this reason, little of Snow White got off the ground, and the project was essentially killed once Cooper left.

By this point, both Caleb Robinson and Faris Wilks had enough of Boreing. He was driving away their popular talent, engaging in vanity film/TV projects which were bleeding money, was disliked by most employees, and turning off fans. I was told that Robinson and Wilks agreed Boreing had to go, but they couldn't simply fire him. Boreing owned a piece of Daily Wire, as he was one of the two original founders. Rather than turn this into a messy corporate divorce, I heard they decided to approach Boreing with an offer to "voluntarily" step down and take on a different role.

The pitch was basically, "The Daily Wire has been chaotic with you at the helm, and the company is close to crashing and burning. Mr. Wilks isn't going to fund any of this anymore unless we see some major changes. We'd like you to step down as CEO, let Caleb quietly run things behind the scenes, with Ben's help, and in return Mr. Wilks will still fund your Pendragon series, which you can now work on full time. That series has always been your dream, right? Now you can spend all your time making it."

Boreing wasn't thrilled about this, but felt he had little choice. Even longtime friend Ben Shapiro had grown tired of him, and he basically had no allies left within the company. If he didn't play ball, there would be no more Pendragon, and no more funding from Wilks for any other of his vanity projects.

Boreing reluctantly accepted it, and supposedly Pendragon has been sent off to be produced away from the rest of Daily Wire, where nobody will have to see Boreing anymore. So he's essentially gone. Maybe if Pendragon is a success (which is doubtful), they'll let him continue to produce stuff like this. Otherwise, he will probably end up as a silent partner.

It might be too little, too late for Daily Wire. It's hard to get cred back on the internet. They haven't completely lost it, but they've lost enough to where many social media conservatives think negatively of them.

The tipping point may be Matt Walsh. He is well liked, and he is reportedly unhappy at Daily Wire. If he leaves, what do they have left? Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson?

I predict that at some point, Wilks is going to pull the plug on Daily Wire, and they'll start fresh, maybe with Shapiro still associated.

Ian Carroll, who I'm not otherwise a fan of, has long disliked Daily Wire, and has recently enjoyed kicking them throughout their controversies.

He's been the go-to guy for disgruntled Daily Wire employees who want to leak negative info to a fellow conservative with a big following.

I also have a "source" connected to Daily Wire, which is how I sometimes get info which isn't otherwise public. Recall that a few years ago I was able to get MyBookie ads removed from Shapiro's show, after they scammed Bart Hanson.

Anyway, I have two connections to Daily Wire, and one of them gave me some of the above-posted info.

Carroll has a lot more sources than I do, but almost everything he said below tracks with what I've heard, so it's likely mostly true. It is embarrassing how he was confusing the words "enigmatic" and "emblematic", but try to ignore that and watch below:

Cliffs: Jeremy Boreing was an arrogant asshole who had worn out his welcome in conservative circles, pissed off fellow employees, and made dumb business decisions which cost the company money. Since he was a co-owner who couldn't be easily fired, they kicked him downstairs to make his beloved Pendragon series, and shipped him away to where nobody would have to interact with him anymore.

Candace Owens did a long segment about this (45 minutes or so). I don't like Candace, but I'll say that she speaks very well, and is extremely good at feigning maturity and reasonability when she wants to.

If you didn't know anything else about Candace, you'd watch the below and think she's a really nice woman. She even complimented Ben Shapiro!

Shapiro trying to throw water on this fire, appearing on Megyn Kelly:

    Go to 3:10 mark.

    BULLSHIT

Ben should've just stayed quiet. He's still mostly liked, and people aren't blaming him for the bad Jeremy decisions (Brett Cooper et all). Some blame him for Candace Owens, but much of Daily Wire's original fan base didn't like Candace in the first place, myself included.

Bad look for Ben to lie to Daily Wire fans in order to provide cover for Boreing.

Right choice of words. She is really good at feigning intellect, morality, and a whole host of other things to an unsophisticated audience.

I’ve known people like her in life. They come off attractive, reasonable, intelligent, but then you listen to their actual words and realize they are idiots and narcissistic. She tries to sell she’s above all this pettiness and high brow while being completely in the gutter and as bad as any of them

She had some segment the other night called Nation under Blackmail. It was supposedly about Olivia Nuzzi and her tryst with RFK Jr and blackmail. Instead she made it like 25 minutes about her and then 20 minutes of pure speculation that the Jews are controlling RFK Jr with zero proof. Just pure gibberish that was all about her playing the victim for most of the show. The whole I’m just some moral Christian woman trying to have my 4th baby. How all these people are trash attacking her. Calling them demons. . Meanwhile she’s the biggest defender of Andrew Tate in modern media.

She makes good headlines for her videos that catch your attention and she speaks well but at the end of the day, her content is a joke. She isn’t a serious person and certainly not a journalist or any sort.

Everything turns into her playing the victim. She traffics in all the same conspiracy gibberish as any of them, silliness like Macron’s wife was born a man shit that morons fall for, yet she’s just a dumb n-word. She simply has a nice demeanor and is attractive, but she may be one of the dumbest of all these YouTube personalities. Her shows are totally incoherent. She is playing a serious person on the internet to very dumb people. She has good people producing her package, but once you get into the actual content, it’s the dumbest and most disjointed “specials” of all of them. Catnip for morons is all she is.

Oh wow this blew up lol. However, it’s fake news. I resigned last Thursday (voluntarily) but not with the drama you’ve been led to believe. I love The Daily Wire, Jeremy, Ben, and Caleb and will still be working with the company as a consultant.

The four years I spent at DW were some of the most rewarding of my life. I am and will remain a fan and supporter and know they will keep doing great things.

You dorks need to stop watching so many TikTok conspiracies

Yeah... I'm sure the resignation was totally voluntary, and it had nothing to do with Jeremy being kicked downstairs first.

    BUMP

Some gay Youtuber named Jose did a very good and thorough analysis of the Daily Wire and its entire history, including its recent struggles.

Jose has apparently been following and covering Daily Wire on his channel for a long time, so this is the culmination of all of his "work". He's very left wing, however, and unfortunately that bleeds into his otherwise sharp coverage of the matter.

It's worth watching, provided you disregard his occasional editorializing, especially about trans issues.

As I said above, this is a mostly well-researched and clearly presented documentary on the history and recent failures of the Daily Wire. The editorializing did somewhat ruin what seemed to otherwise be a fact-based video, especially the rants about “the genocide in Gaza” and “[Matt Walsh's documentaries] were just anti-trans misinformation”.

Why ruin a good factual piece by stating political opinion as if it’s also fact?

He did get a few points incorrect:

    - He claimed the Daily Wire film "Lady Ballers" was a success. It was brutally panned by a large percentage of even The Daily Wire’s biggest fans. The animated series "Mr. Birchum" was hated even more. This proves that DW’s conservative audience simply wanted well-made programming, and not just drivel which appealed to their politics. Jose made it sound like all conservatives loved Lady Ballers, and they loved it because it bashed trans people.

    - Matt Walsh’s two documentaries were a huge success, which Jose stated. However, his reasons wre incorrect. These docs were funny, well made, and mostly featured extreme leftists making a fool of themselves. It was similar to the Borat films, except this time it featured right wingers tricking left wingers into exposing their own craziness, while Borat did the reverse. Jose instead branded all conservatives as simpletons who cannot discern good programming from bad.

    - Jose attributed DW getting past the Crowder fiasco because Crowder imploded due to his ex-wife's video being released. DW indeed got past the Crowder fiasco mostly unscathed, but not because of Crowder’s divorce/video which occurred months later. It was because Crowder did not present his case well to the public, and came off both insincere and entitled. It also helped that DW had many major personalities, all of whom spoke against him, including Owens. Only later did most people realize that both sides had fault in that dispute.

    Here's some height lolz

All of the 3 main guys at Daily Wire are short.

Here's a 2018 picture posted by Boreing himself, with Steven Crowder, who is 6'2". The picture features Ben Shapiro, Crowder, Michael Knowles (a host, not an owner), and Jeremy Boreing.

    https://twitter.com/JeremyDBoreing/status/1037482835697852416

Laughably, both Shapiro and Boreing now claim to be 5'9". This is especially funny when it comes to Boreing, who is even shorter than Shapiro!

But look at Boreing and tell me he's anywhere near 5 inches shorter than Crowder. Clearly he's way more. Boreing is probably 5'6" and Shapiro 5'7". Shapiro, of course, is a Jew, and Jews are shorter than average, as a whole. Boreing is not Jewish.

Notice in this 2018 picture, Boreing was making fun of himself for being short, claiming that he's standing on an apple box (and is still the shortest one in the picture). This was before he was public-facing, so he obviously had far less arrogance back then.

But wait... what about Caleb Robinson, the third owner of Daily Wire?

Here he is with Shapiro and Boering in 2023. Notice that Boreing is suddenly Shapiro's height, and is said to now wear elevator shoes. Notice Robinson is the shortest one!

So there you have it. Apparently you cannot be over 5'7" and run Daily Wire, and apparently Boreing grew during his 40s.

Interesting how they promoted Pendragon yesterday:

    https://twitter.com/JeremyDBoreing/status/1978984559954837871

Note that Ben Shapiro and three other Daily Wire guys were discussing Pendragon on some kind of 4-man roundtable show, and then handed it off to Jeremy to finish talking about it.

This is significant because Jeremy was NOT directly on the air with them. It was a phony transition from Ben saying, "Here is Jeremy Boreing, presenting the trailer to you...", and then it cuts to Jeremy by himself saying, "Thanks Ben...."

In reality, these were recorded at two different times, and nobody was directly interacting with Jeremy. Reminds me of the "phone calls" Chrissy was shown making near the end of her run on Three's Company, when they banished her to a different studio, and the actors wanted nothing to do with her anymore. There was no actual interaction between Suzanne Somers and the rest of the cast at that point, and this has the same vibe to it. Very awkward. They couldn't have had Jeremy on there, live with the other four, to announce this?

You can also tell Shapiro doesn't believe his own manufactured excitement about Pendragon, and realizes they wasted their money on it (regardless of the actual quality of the production).
