At least trying to listen to him defend the constitutionality of owning 1000 bottles of baby oil at one time and in one place is just ugh... i feel gross, like bro your obviously smart, doesn't this feel....beneath you? but of course it doesnt the money diddy pays him act shocked in front of the media is probably a fucking ton. he annoys me, his pretending this is all some cool freedom fighter work hes doing........lol.........

    Given the size of Walmart, I would have expected something 5x the size as far as pay package. Just going to assume he is already worth a couple hundred million in stock and does not care.

    Luigi seems to be the fall guy here. My sources telling me that the true killer is a daytime shapeshifter that can take any form as long as they have recently been in the sun (60 mins max afterwards). Authorities are using high tech surveillance at night along the east coast to catch it while it cannot shift.

    I agree with this, things will get much more difficult when all our phones are always on recording livestreaming always, like meta rayban glasses, etc and some other tech like blockchain too. However just because its more difficult to lie I dont think thats the same things as valuing the truth, in some ways that makes deciet/lying super valuable. I'm just pondering this right now so I don't have many thoughts and there all premature but I think we have to find a way to value each other over ourselves, or value society as a whole over ourselves. Until I value me and mine equal or less than I value you and yours Ill always be incentived to 'steal' from you. I don't even know if this is possible because we are human animals with millions of years of dumb animal evolution based on lack/ or limited resources. It might be too ingrained in us that serving the self first and foremost is paramount to survival (probably is). Transcending monkey-life probably is beyond us. It would require a total willingness to self-sacrifice for the other.

    I dunno. I might just be tired.

    I have to partially disagree with this. 1980s computer/phone hacking was largely attached to social engineering. It wasn't just Mitnick, and he didn't popularize it. I will agree that he was the one who used it most extensively, and of course he was one of the most famous/consequential hackers of all time, so his antics got a ton of attention.

    I also agree that it's the easiest and most reliable method for effective cybercrime, and many of the big hacks have a social engineering element to them.

    On Facebook, the social engineering topic just came up in a group where I post, though not related to this situation. Kevin's former associate "Susan Thunder" (Susan Headley) was discussed, a 6'2" chick whose main skill was social engineering. Being female also gave her an edge there, as people were less suspicious when she did it. She even did it in person, directly strolling into Pacific Bell and bullshitting her way into highly restricted areas. Susan and I were friends for about 4 months in early 1991, when she lived in Vegas. She was claiming to be a professional poker player at that point. This kind of checks out, though it appears she exited the poker world in 2000, a year before I showed up.

    That sounds interesting, do you happen to know the details behind this? Like when did it happen, what exactly Susan said to BS her way in, and what was her end goal once she got inside those restricted areas?
