If you are a male of average height or taller, you should always get the Big Seats or the exit row on Spirit. Otherwise you simply won't fit. The 28" seat pitch makes it a sardine can even for short people, but for men 5'10" or above, it's a disaster.
For that reason, given that I'm 6'2", it's not even an option for me to fly Spirit unless I got Big Seats or exit row, even if I wanted to cheap out and tolerate being treated like gutter trash.

have been on spirit flights for 32 times and have been delayed twice. both not their fault. if you know their system and don't do layovers it will be fine.

Delayed flights aren't really the complaint. You're just flying with trashy people, and you're treated like trash by the staff. And the seats are really small. Not sure how tall you are, but I couldn't fit unless I got the "big seats" up front.
I've seen a lot of people on poker social media, who swore for awhile by Spirit because of the price, make the inevitable "OMG NEVER AGAIN WITH SPIRIT" after something went wrong. Usually it had to do with lost luggage, some kind of reservation issue, or some other kind of customer service fail, where Spirit was absolutely awful.
To me it's not worth it. Though I understand the allure for people who fly a lot, such as poker players who travel for tournaments.

The problem with Spirit and Allegiant is when they have an issue, you are often screwed for days because they don’t have the infrastructure to get you out quickly. I know multiple friends who just had their flight cancelled with these 2 and Frontier where they were told sorry, here’s your money back. And then they have to purchase a last minute ticket on a regular airline for 20 times as much or wait days.

You would have status and get Premium Economy seats if not upgraded to FC for free. Whereas the trash you talk about rarely if ever pays the additional fees for these seats.
But I would expect a dude like you to be flying First Class and being the ass clown that complains when an economy passenger comes up to take a shit in “your” toilet.
