There have been a lot of disgusting elected officials, but this is an appointment to be the head of the United States Justice Department. At this point, what laws matter if this is what we choose? Like I just can’t imagine sitting in jail for some drug charge or sex shit when the top justice official is this dude.

Like 99.9% of people sitting in jail for a sex crime does not know an Attorney General even exists. I mean the guy in the bar tonight targeting the karaoke stage is not thinking about Matt Gaetz.

Oh, and a recent report says the following, according to an attorney representing two of the women involved:

- Two women say that Gaetz paid them for sex at one of Joel Greenberg's parties. Both were over 18.

- One of the women, who was 19 at the time, saw her 17-year-old friend have sex with Gaetz. The then-17-year-old has not confirmed this, and is not represented by this attorney.

- The woman asserts that Gaetz did not know her friend was 17. When he learned it later, he cut off contact, and resumed it when she turned 18.

- Gaetz paid for both to travel with him once the younger girl was 18, and again they both had sex with him. However, while he paid for their travel, he did not pay for the sex that time. If true, there was nothing illegal about this trip.


I think I believe all of this.

Therefore, it isn't fair to call Gaetz a pedo, as he actually ceased contact with the 17-year-old once he learned her age. However, all of the above behavior is not befitting of a Congressman, and definitely not of the US Attorney General. I also don't believe criminal charges are warranted here, even though Gaetz technically broke the law.

Look, as you see, I'm not Gaetz defender, but let's be realistic here about what he likely did and didn't do.

They likely have financial agreements and other shit with him, but it doesn’t matter. Even when you’re 24 and a girl lies you’re going to prison. I can't stand Gaetz either, for the same reason I don't like Tulsi Gabbard, there is just something about both of them that is off putting. With that said, the DOJ investigated Gaetz for three years and declined to prosecute. This is the Dem playbook, what they did to Clarence Thomas, Brett Kavanaugh and then Trump, go back years find something of a sexual nature and exploit it. Now 7 years later this is an issue for Gaetz, even though a lunatic DOJ declined to prosecute. Yeah, he is a scum bag, but half of Congress are scum bags, they just keep a lower profile. I mean FFS they went back 30 years to sue Trump for a dressing room incident in a public store that was never reported until this old bag wrote a book, then NY changed the law on statute of limitations for the sole purpose of getting Trump. I can see why Trump is digging in. At what point do you draw the line, and say he was investigated, and not pursued by the DOJ, versus some gotcha Dems. At the end of the day, just like Brett, Clarence, etc.. it will be forgotten after confirmation. But with that said, I think he will drop out for the simple fact he won't have the votes. Trump can find anyone to dismantle the FBI, although Gaetz probably would be the best at doing it, which is why I think Trump is not wavering.
