So much for free speech. The day after Election Day I was about to take a flight and saw some stupid post saying Rob Reiner was going to light himself on fire if Kamala lost the election. I wrote in the comments of the post something like “400 pounds of smoked Meat(head)”.

When I landed my Twitter was permanently suspended for violating the X rules. Now, I never got any clarification on exactly what I did, but this post seems to be the only thing that makes sense. I have sent in appeals apologizing for the comment and saying it was a joke in poor taste. I said maybe the person making the decision was unaware Reiner was called “Meathead” in All in the Family. Thus the context may have been lost and taken literally? I really don’t know.

I meant no harm in the comment. Maybe it was a poor attempt at humor. But to get banned with no explanation is truly mind boggling. I have received no correspondence in two weeks regarding the reason for the suspension or any notice that they even received my appeal.

At the end of the day I wasn’t very active on Twitter lately so it’s just an annoyance. But just really ironic with X being called the last bastion of free speech and literally the day after the election I get banned for this nonsense. I have never been banned or even warned on any social media site in my life.

When I go on X now it is really tilting seeing how much leeway people are given with the posts. This whole thing really makes no sense. I’m sure if I paid for blue I would be fine. Who knows, maybe Reiner himself flagged the comment. Bullshit.

To be clear, there are no DMs “I slid in”. There is no conduct that could be seen as improper even by the most strict standard. This has to be a massive overreaction to a single silly post.

All really came from live tweeting an online season of the show Big Brother years ago when I was recovering from surgery. So I don’t give much a shit about that. It still lets me pay for premium to see posts, lol, if I would like to. What a joke.

Btw sorry about the self serving post. I was hoping that the account would be reinstated. But 2 weeks later and hearing nothing forced my hand. But I think it does show that even on a “free speech” platform like X, you could be arbitrarily fucked over at a moments notice.

Me? No chance. I wouldn’t even use the word bitch on twitter. No chance I used a slur. I may have referred to Senator Kelly as a dollar tree Ian Sams after I saw him come on the news and lie about the abortion issue. That’s about as worse as I would get.

Just like most people I can’t say 10 years ago I didn’t use some slurs on X. But no chance I would ever type the N word. I still use cocksucker in conversation from time to time. But it’s because it just sounds so good. I can’t quit it completely. But I wouldn’t write it on X.

I’m no angel. But I know that it’s absolute nonsense my twitter was suspended. I didn’t wish Rob Reiner harm and in all sincerity I hope he is doing well. Was just a throw away stupid joke.

It’s not like I’m losing sleep over it. But just as your post further confirms for me…just the absolute absurdity of it being banned.

It’s also the timing. I just keep hearing about how X is the real free speech forum. Meanwhile, I got banned for a bad joke.

But to the other part of your point is well taken. In the end, this isn’t something to dwell on. I think with two weeks of total silence and the account seemingly banned for life….I just wanted to say something about it and move on.

There were restrictions placed on the account but it hasn't been banned yet.
