Please tell me this is just a troll job, and you don't believe that was a research poll trying to assess anything. Reuters/Ipsos should be ashamed of putting out such propaganda aimed at humiliating one political party.
3 of the 4 of those questions are of the trick variety -- crafted in a way to make Republicans look ill-informed, despite their thought process being correct.
"Violent crime rates are at or near all-time highs in most major American cities" (false): Look at how it's worded. All-time highs were in the early 90s -- a completely different time and era. We then saw well over 20 years of steep decline in violent crime rates through 2013. Then it started to rise again in 2014 due to the vilification of police, no cash bail, woke DAs not charging entire classes of crimes, defunding of police, and various other left-wing attempts at social justice. It then had a modern peak around 2020-2021, at which point the blue cities realized the trick was to underreport crime to the FBI, thus giving the impression the problem wasn't as bad. The numbers were recently adjusted due to that fact. So, yes, crime has gone up a lot in the past decade (including property crime, which is through the roof), and the left is responsible. That's why people perceive it to be "near all time highs". Nobody is thinking of 1990 when they answer that.
"Inflation in the US has declined over the last year and is near national historic averages" (true): First off, as an observer of consumer pricing, I don't believe that to be the case, no matter what the government claims. But it's true the RATE of inflation has gone down since the breakneck rate of the early 2020s. But that just means things aren't increasing as fast anymore. The damage has been done, and prices are substantially higher -- over 100% higher in some industries -- than they were in 2019. People answer "true" because they correctly perceive how expensive everything has gotten, compared to just 5 years ago.
"Over the last few months, unauthorized border crossings are or near the lowest level in the last few years" (true): "The last few years"? You mean we are comparing the Biden Administration to... the Biden Administration? How about comparing the illegal border crossings between 2017-2020 compared to 2021-2024? It is massively higher in the past 4 years compared to the prior 4 years. And that wasn't bad luck or coincidence. Biden undid all of Trump's policies holding those numbers down, and then made things even worse.
Funny that the libs think the above graphic is such an own of conservative voters, though. Such a party of pseudointellectual frauds.
and let's not forget the DOJ has stopped the requirement of the reporting of these violent crimes... just cause they don't get reported doesn't mean they didn't happen/happening...
