Celebrities who are alive who you thought were dead, or ones who are much younger than you thought

I'll start with the birthday boy: Danny DeVito

I knew he wasn't dead, but I figured he had to be over 80. It's not that he looks old now... it's that he looked old in the '70s.

DeVito was just 34 when he played Louie on "Taxi". I assumed he was around 45-50 at the time.

Beginning this year I have become aware that my wife and I are constantly asking the “dead or alive” question of each other. We never did before.

My wife and I ask this of each other cause generally speaking nobody else knows who the fuck these people are. This is certified old people territory.

    Sigh

It’s mostly the early bald guys like an Ed Harris, but not always. I have a friend who was bald by 27. Looked 45 to me. But he was a good athlete and college athletic director who works out, and he still kind of looks 45. Those guys who look essentially the same for 30-40 years.

Your man Archie was always mentioned. Brimley is often mentioned. Basically same age as Redford in the natural. 50 in Cocoon. We know these guys are dead.

I feel like I’ve known who Willie Nelson is for almost 50 years and he kind of looked older than he was then, and is now 90 and still looks the same and much younger than he is.

I know he is still alive at age 94, but Gene Hackman is a favorite...

That’s sad to see. He was still kind of a vibrant badass in his early 80s/late 70s and a really great actor. One of those guys where I liked almost every movie.

He is still alive, but of all the cast on Different Strokes, and for any sitcom for that matter, the fact Todd Bridges (Willis) is still alive at 59 is a miracle.

Totally agree. We could do a separate thread just on Hackman alone. Druff should have some good material to add.

We really do not need another Master Thread. 10 are enough.

Ha ha, I didn’t say that are there are only 3 mater threads. I use master instead of “Official” like the others.

Anyways Nick Norte is pushing 83 in his PJs…

    Oh.

Guess I did a thread similar to this in 2021: https://pokerfraudalert.com/forum/sh...re-still-alive

All of the 3 on my first post (Bob Newhart, Norman Lear, Bob Barker) are now dead.

    Well we are old.

One early bald guy who looks the same mostly is Paul Shaffer. You are in middle school seeing him on Letterman in 1982 and he’s only 33 years old and then you’ll see him playing with Springsteen 40 years later and think that dude looked 47 when I was 12.

    Pic from 1982. 32 or 33.
