But he will be the AG.

Make no mistake, the FBI in Trump's administration will be disassembled. It really was a concoction of JD Edgar Hoover anyway to spy on people. Not much has changed. I have never understood why the FBI has ever existed when you have an AG office.
Mueller turned the FBI from a police agency into an intelligence/spy agency because Bush 43 bitched him out about not stopping 9/11, which wasn’t in the FBI’s job description at the time.

People don't realize the FBI did not grow out of organic need, it grew out of J Edgar Hoover's thirst for power over a 50 year helm over the organization. There is no need for it, actually there never was, and btw FDR was the first to weaponize it against his enemies, not much has changed. I am personally fine with regional federal agencies that protect civil rights or help root out domestic bad actors. But this notion you need a 40,000 person bureaucracy in Washington is just absurd. It's just an arm of politics at this point.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump and his team anticipated this situation of escalation . Zelensky is now signaling that the war needs to end as soon as possible. It wouldn’t shock me if Trump warned him against escalating further in the next two months, making it clear there would be consequences.

Meanwhile, Biden’s decision to escalate tensions with Russia at this stage is utterly insane . The best-case scenario is more deaths on both sides; the worst case is a catastrophic escalation spiraling out of control. There’s no upside . Allowing Ukraine to fire American-made missiles into Kursk , a region where the Battle of Kursk holds profound significance for Russians will only make matters worse. People overlook how much the Kursk region means historically and symbolically to Russia and how insulting it would be for Western missiles to be fired on it.

Well, one is an adult and the other is a child, so there’s that.

Are there people that believe Gaetz is guilty of something?

Please explain why Merrick Garland investigated and didn't press charges. However there were charges and conviction for someone trying to extort him over the accusation. The timing of the accusation was when Matt was about to announce running for higher office in Florida. The deep state is against Matt. That makes him a perfect AG.

    Here's the problem.

Like the Epstein Island situation, this isn't as black and white as scandal hunters would like it to be.

Gaetz loved to do drugs and bang hookers. He had a friend named Joel Greenberg who supplied these hookers (and probably the drugs, too), and would invite Gaetz to his parties. Gaetz probably banged various girls that Greenberg brought.

It has been proven in a court of law that Greenberg was indeed finding underage girls and paying them to fuck guys at these parties. Greenberg was also bringing hookers age 18+ to the parties. It seemed that he just wanted to procure young chicks willing to have sex for money, and didn't care if they were 18 or not. Obviously that's bad, and he belongs in prison (he got 11 years for this and other offenses), but this doesn't appear to be a pedo ring.

But regarding Gaetz, there are questions which are difficult to get the full answer. Did Gaetz have sex with the hookers who were underage, or only the ones who were over 18? And if Gaetz did have sex with underage hookers, was he aware they were under 18? And was Gaetz aware at all that Greenberg was bringing underage hookers to these parties, or did he assume they were all of age?

It's possible that there's not enough proof that Gaetz had sex with underage girls there, and it's also possible that he legit didn't know anyone at these parties were underage. It's also possible that he knew and, like Greenberg, didn't care.

Anyway, there's almost zero point zero chance he was completely innocent here.

The extortion attempt was real, but was separate from all of this. It was done by some idiot in his 60s who heard about Gaetz's issues and thought he could squeeze $$ out of him by pretending to be a fixer.

The same reason Trump was not convicted of insurrection for J6- investigated and nothing found.

druff- you don't think if there was even a small chance that M. Garland would have gotten a conviction that he would have indicated and humiliated Gaetz? and if not federal, it's not like he couldn't find some state prosecutor to do his bidding in exchange for a better job later. this is all a lock.

They probably had a hard time coming up with anything concrete. I'm guessing they can't produce a girl under 18 at the time who will testify that she had sex with Gaetz (maybe because he didn't have sex with anyone underage), and they also can't show that Gaetz knew underage girls were present at all.

It would not surprise me if he just showed up to Greenberg's parties and thought he was fucking young hookers and doing drugs, and didn't even think about the possible underage issue.

However, they can probably show that he was at these parties, fucked hookers, and that there were underage girls trafficked, so that's the last thing he wants coming out at the hearings. Hence the resignation.
