The bet I was really considering -- going the distance -- was the smart money here.
I knew deep down that was likely happening.

This probably won't have a sequel. Very little action. I don't think there will be interest in watching Tyson gassed for the final half of the fight.
Interesting implied Trump statement during Jake Paul's speech though.
Funny that sports betters will try an calculate every little edge when the two best bets of 2024 were based on the most braindead principles.
Trump nearly always underestimated in polls and Tyson is old.

A KO was nearly impossible with 14 oz in any heavyweight fight, even an exhibition. It's why they are used in sparring. I am glad I did not stay up for this fight. Tyson looked like he was ancient when he got knocked out by Lennox at age 35, he could rarely move then. He was a heavy cocaine user for 10 years post retirement, and by his own admission an alcoholic for many years. For some reason the media went crazy when he took his shirt off at the weigh in. If it were that easy body builders would be the best boxers. My gosh last year he was spotted in a wheel chair multiple times. What did people expect?

Jake Paul announced his next opponent it’s going to be former president Jimmy Carter.
Not sure what is so funny. 14 oz gloves are used for training and sparring. They are designed so nobody gets hurt, which is why they were used in this "fight". 10 oz are for heavyweight fights, unless the two fighters agree to 8 oz. I am almost certain Tyson and Holyfield agreed to 8 ounces for the first fight. Nowadays you need to Nevada Commission to approve 8 ounce gloves. Mayweather and Pacquio got the approval for 8 ounce gloves. 14 ounce gloves are like balloons, the extra padding and weight makes the punches generally 50% less impactful. I get you don't know much about the sport because it sucks now, but in the 90s when I grew up you knew the boxing specs like the rules of football today. But the sport sucks now so I get your ignorance, it's like following Men's Doubles in Tennis nowadays.
