I remember all of the "news" channels covering some big press conference like 8 or 9 years ago where the Maricopa sheriff and his investigators did a drawn out breakdown on trying to prove whether or not his birth certificate was a forgery. The liberal networks of course covered only the cliffs with their opinions. They overlayed the signatures and entries written by officials on his long form birth certificate and selective service card with ones entered into Hawaiian records the same days on a projector and actually made a very convincing argument, along with other evidence from a couple of expert services, that these were faked. This was completely blown off and discredited because of the media painting "Sheriff Joe" as a kook for years. The investigators were all trained law enforcement professionals who agreed to do the work for free so it couldn't be called a taxpayer expense. I remember thinking that an objective jury would easily reach the same conclusion assuming all of the evidence was legitimate. This would have gotten you called a crazy "birther" or whatever back then for even suggesting it.
