Look at the demographics this time. I've been saying it for years -- Trump's biggest contribution to the Republican Party, long term, was breaking through the appeal barrier to minority voters. No other major candidate in my lifetime could accomplish this.

This is going to open the floodgates for these new voters to pour into the GOP, and deflate the Dems' hold on that reliable voting bloc.

This will, by default, also allow the GOP to shed the stereotype of "the party of rich white men and hicks", and actually become a coalition of a lot of types of supporters from different backgrounds.

It would actually be a beautiful thing to see common ground between like-minded thinkers become the norm, an put an end to race-baiting divisiveness that we've seen for the past 10 years. I can tell you that, aside from a few white supremacist retards with no influence in the party, the typical Republican voter would love to see more black and brown people join us.

Regarding #2, the only place Trump (or any President) will have problems will be consumer pricing. That's not going back down. We had inflation, things got more expensive, and it's not going to deflate. So if you're waiting for a return to 2019 pricing, forget it. Only gasoline has a chance to do that. However, Trump did inherit an existing return to more normal inflation, so he won't even have to try very hard to keep that under control.

I think Trump got union votes due to his stupid Tariff plans, didn’t the UAW not endorse either candidate for the first time.

If Trump does away with public labor unions, that would be a great thing for the country.

No more shitty teachers protected from being fired.

No more horrible government employees keeping their jobs regardless of their uselessness.

Public labor unions make no sense, have never made sense, and are an enemy of the people.

One of my first jobs was working for UPS. It was close to my house and they had a lot of shifts available. My initial pay was 11$ /hr. Through the union contract I supposed to get a 1 dollar raise my first year, 2 dollars the next year.

Well I happened to join when the current contract ran out. So I had to wait for the new contract to get put into place. For 2 years I was without that new contract. I was given a 25 cent raise for my first year and a 25 cent raise for my second year. I was given what UPS felt I deserved.

Corporate greed will kill the working class man

You seem to think all these people joined your party. They did a hostile takeover of your party and you decided to stay.

You just got 81% of white men without a degree in this election. What do you imagine they do for a living? As you said, prices aren't coming down, and exactly no one I have ever met made more after their union disbanded. I hardly know an Obama to Maga person who isn't in a union. In one post you welcome your new coalition and in the next try to gut it.

What??? Seems to me the Republican Party is in pretty damn good shape rn. I mean, they scooped yesterday.

Of course in 4 years anything can happen, but "continue the collapse?" Bro...

So every Democratic talking point that you and others parroted during this campaign was "ZOMGZOMG LOOK HOW GOOD THE ECONOMY IS GUYZZZZZZZZZZ," but now he's "starting at the bottom?" Make up your mind, bud. Which is it?

Which ones exactly? Like just teachers? Police and fire? You getting rid of Granada Roger's pension? I assume IRS workers have a union but I have no idea tbh. I admit I did misread your comment. I recall you being against all unions at one point.

I agree with you and hope some sane emerges. I hope Trump succeeds. Just incredibly difficult task.

How do you fix ACA when the reddest states for him have some of the highest free health care? He said he won't touch it. I don't know how you fix it without upsetting a whole lot of his new coalition.

The dual libertarian vision of a lot of his people and his populism is what I am most interested in. A lot of our problems require almost a Libertarian fix, and some will want that, while it's super unpopular and won't have time to succeed and hold the coalition.

You need a diverse coalition but keeping them all happy is really hard. Shit like UBI and a Sanders vision became more on the table with his win as counter intuitive as that is. But only if he gets really unlucky and fails spectacularly. It's America and you know the big swings occur from one extreme to the other when shit doesn't go well. We are trying this way now and I truly hope it works.

Project 2025’s public service union ban would cost workers almost $80 billion

There are countless ways Donald Trump’s Project 2025 would harm working Americans.

From destroying our economy, gutting health care and retirement benefits to eliminating our voice on the job, the 900-plus page roadmap for a second Trump term outlines a path that would transform the federal government and take power away from working people.

A new analysis by EPI Action, a nonpartisan advocacy organization, puts a price tag on one particular piece of the extremist Project 2025 agenda: banning public sector unions like AFSCME.

“If such attacks led to even a 50% reduction in the share of public-sector workers covered by a union contract, it would cost U.S. workers roughly $77 billion annually in lost wages and benefits — and the harm would not just be confined to the workers losing union coverage,” the analysis’ authors conclude.

EPI Action’s calculation looks at two things. The first: union workers who would be directly harmed by a ban on public sector unions. That number comes to more than 3.9 million workers who benefit from the wages and benefits unions provide. If their unions were taken away? “This would constitute roughly $37.9 billion in lost wage and benefit income,” according to the analysis.

Second, there’s what the authors call a “spillover” effect, which would be just as damaging as the direct effect of a ban on public sector unions. Workers who remained unionized would see their wages shrink due to the growing number of nonunion workers who could replace them. The price tag there? $7.2 billion.

And even nonunion workers would suffer because they benefit from what the authors call the union “threat” effect — the ability of unions to raise the wages of nonunion workers in an industry.

Druff name one country Trump referred to as a "Shithole" that is majority white.
When faced with a difficult decision, ask yourself "What would Micon do?", then do the opposite.

Kari Lake is closing the gap with each drop. She might pull it off. They are less than 70% counted and she needs to gain about 60000 votes.

probably know by xmas after another 5 lawsuits.
