There is a place for EV cars for those that want them in major cities, but the adoption rate is collapsing. It's not because people don't want clean energy, it's just they are not practical for 90% of the US population in 2024. 2124 might be a different story, but the technology won't be roaming around parking lots looking for charging stations. By then one would assume cars would be like traveling by horse, something will replace it, most likely air travel. There are many studies going on getting planes right up between the earth's atmosphere and space and let gravity move you 2000 miles in an hour. Not around the corner, but give it 50 years. We will all be dead by then, but our kids will benefit, except the childless cat ladies.
Lol the creation of electricity is not clean. All this shit is a hoax to gain control.
    As clean as it gets.

    Wind, solar, hydro.
God knew what "he" was doing

The backward Chinese are very interested.

None of those are scalable in 2024. In the US they are vanity projects and have virtually no adoption. It's not because of anything political. It's they are not practical and would be impossible to implement, much less afford. This country is the technology center for the world. You are not going to develop the next generation of AI with some windmills. Get a clue. Oil and Natural Gas are here to stay. You don't like it pack your shit up and move to Labrador and build a house and get away from it all.

And yet the market says otherwise.
    Statistics say otherwise.
Why do you tie AI with an energy source? AI is not affected by a type of energy

    Efficiency

Hydropower is the most efficient way to generate electricity. Modern hydro turbines can convert up to 90% of available energy into electricity (WVIC, 2017). Most fossil fuel plants are only about 50% efficient.
    Cost

In the U.S., hydropower is produced at an average of 0.085 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh). This is about 50% the cost of nuclear, 40% the cost of fossil fuel, and 25% the cost of using natural gas (WVIC, 2017).

Check it out, this planetis dominated by water. Good thing because life depends on it.
Shout out to the sun and the energy it brings to the table everywhere all the time. No slouch, the wind can ruin the best laid plans but it has a huge upside. These are endless supplies of energy, unlike Mountaintop Mining, fracking etc., etc., etc. which are finite and are bad for our ecosystem/*//

You do the math. One form of energy is scalable, the other is not

Sources of hydro, solar and wind are infinite and clean. We have only begun to focus on technologies that tap the resources that sustain life. Very scalable
The ocean. Yeah. Scalable. Hydro means water.

The ocean. Yeah. Scalable. Hydro means water.
Your post a few above only talks about how efficient hydro power is….try and stick the topic.

Hydro is not efficiently scalable, ocean water ruins just about everything it touches making constant maintenance a necessity which makes tidal power a bit of a fantasy until technology can solve the problem.

Currently way too expensive to be scalable.

The topic is energy. Energy from fossil fuels is finite. Centuries of technology have made them as accessible as they are today.

The cleaner alternative energies are infinite. Technological innovations aimed at affordability and accessibility come with time.

Considering the environmental damages caused by fossil fuels investment in cleaner alternatives is vital and will only gain momentum.

I intentionally defined hydro as water not hydroelectricity so it is completely on topic

The upsides to developing cleaner energy from sources that literally surround us will not be talked down

It’s a myth that we’re running out of fossil fuels. The issue is the cost of extraction. Canada has shitloads of shale. America will just take over your country when the cost comes down. Electric cars are faggot btw.

So you agree hydro/tidal is not currently scalable.

    Thanks, I accept your apology.

It's going to take a tremendous amount of energy to fund next generation AI. You are not going to do it with windmills in a parking lot. I'm sorry, you need to move to Newfoundland and just get away from it all. You and everyone else will be better off. It's a win win for everyone.

Wrong. I said water, solar and wind are the future. I simply stated existing energy sources are non replenish-able making alternatives are a must. The fact these alternative energies are far less environmental harmful compared to todays product is gravy on top

    Ha ha, told ya.

California Cops Are Finding Out Teslas Are 'Nearly Unusable' As Police Cruises

Police in California are experiencing what happens when good intentions crash into reality. Police departments are transitioning to battery powered vehicles but those vehicles come with challenges that make cops’ jobs more difficult.

California is all in on an electric future, planning to ban the sale of gas and diesel powered cars starting in 2035. To get ready for this brave new world some police departments started with buying a few Teslas. These departments immediately ran into serious problems using the vehicles as cruisers, such as a lack of charging infrastructure, inadequate interior space, expensive and lengthy retrofitting processes, interference from advanced driver safety assistance systems and more.

Remember on Biden's day #1 when he signed those Executive Orders, government incentives for EVs was one of them...

DEARBORN, Mich. (FOX 2) - Ford Motor Company lost $3.7 billion in its electric vehicle division just in the first nine months of the year.

Power outage: F-150 Lightning Ford plant to go idle, leaving workers with uncertainty

    "The Biden economy is working-"

Nearly a thousand workers at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Plant are facing a season of uncertainty on Thursday with the plant preparing to idle.

"You just have to sit back and hopefully there's a light at the end of this tunnel." said Brian Waters, a Ford autoworker.

The usually bustling Rouge Electric Vehicle Plant is gearing up for a quiet winter with doors set to close temporarily starting November 18th.

It will impact about 730 workers leaving an air of uncertainty for employees like Waters.

    @desertrunner

This chart prices oil using gold (not increasingly worthless inflated dollars). In “real” terms oil has almost never been cheaper.

One ounce of gold buys 40 barrels of oil now.

At the same time the internal combustion engine has never been more efficient or RELIABLE.

Remove government subsidies (Elon) and I don’t even know what we are talking about with regard to EV’s. Madness from a competitive marketplace standpoint. The marketplace is still overwhelming government subsidies and central planning

    Which EV did Druff buy?

Speaking of government EV subsidies I’m learning China is committing to using natural gas for long haul freight shipment thus reducing their oil demand (all of which is imported - see BRICS). Something I want to look into as well as natural gas powering AI computer sites.
