Donald Trump on Twitter Spaces -- but nobody can hear anything

Trump has decided to return to Twitter, after a long hiatus, first due to a ban, and then due to attempting to compete via his fail Truth Social platform.

Finally he has taken a, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em" attitude, and has started to return to Twitter.

The big event, which was supposed to start at 5pm PDT today, was his appearance on his first ever Twitter Spaces with Elon Musk.

However, we are 42 minutes in and, despite almost a million people listening, nobody can hear anything.

This reminds me of the fail last year, when DeSantis attempted to appear with Elon on Twitter Spaces, and again it was riddled with technical difficulties.

He ended going about 2 hours.

Some repetition but otherwise spoke coherently.

Would love to see Kamala speaking off script like this for 2 hours, but we know that will never happen.

He was slurring his words throughout the interview.

A major defense/intelligence contractor hanging out with Trump.

Again, as Sonatine pointed out a while ago the cool military & intelligence stuff most often isn’t public. I remain persistent and will drone on

SpaceX will never go public. He will get all the funding he could possibly want

    in theory.

i guarantee you a lot of very serious people are having very serious mornings after finding out that trump casually mentioned that we sold iron dome to an unspecified ally last night.

i actually got to drive/steer the USS Tennessee. no shit. spent the night on it. bunks were between the nuke silos. feet rested on it. obv couldn't sleep, so went up top with men on watch and just watched the sea, ships, and stars. hearing them announce to nearby ships they were the USS Warship Tennessee and then order them to change course steering them further away gave me goosebumps - still does. a b1 bomber was doing exercises and saw us and they probably aren't used to them being above sea level often so it no shit made a dive towards us fucking around. we did go under, capt would only say we could do 800 feet which is where we went and did V shaped turns a few times and then surfaced again. remarkable young men serving on those things.

This was a Norwegian cruise excursion? You gotta explain the circumstances that had you on board.

From twitter spaces to submarine trips. Personally, I love this type of conversation.

We invited 2 couples to stay for the weekend in NH on the lake. We are all more acquaintances than good friends. Each couple would filter into the kitchen for breakfast and we would meet on the deck to eat. We have a round table that overlooked the lake.

In turns out we sat at that table from morning until after dinner for nearly 3 days. We only took one boat ride a day to break up what turned out a weekend round table marathon. One subject begat another and the quality of conversation was top top. We have plenty of diversions up there but nobody wanted to move. It was really quite unique.

I suspect collectively we are gonna just let that experience simply rest there and not attempt to duplicate that magic weekend.

You and BCR def could carry off that sort of round table

moments like you describe are so rare - esp nowadays. glad you had another.

would be nice, i suspect, to converse in person with many of you. i'm sure i could learn a lot. only soul i've ever met from pfa is druff.

admittedly i have become much more reclusive and introverted with age. really just have very little for most people these days, even family.

would prefer it the other way, but it's not. so, <shrugs>.

    Analogy, but...

It is sad when you hit that age where the Vegas hotel mentality switches from "fuck it, i will be passed out drunk for 6 hours, shower, and go again" to "well I need a softer mattress for my back, room can't be noisy...gonna be in there by midnight..."

It was like 5 years until I even realized I had crossed that point.
