The UK passed a law in 2023 called the "Online Safety Act", which places onerous and burdensome requirements upon forum and website operators, regarding policing "offensive" or "harmful" content.

It did not take effect until March 17, 2025 -- four days ago.

Since then, lots of small, UK-based forums have shut down, out of fear of racking up massive fines from not moderating content quickly enough. Other forums and sites outside the UK, but with UK ties, have simply blocked UK users from accessing them.

PFA will not be affected, because I don't give a shit if the UK attempts to fine me. They have zero jurisdiction over me or PFA. Furthermore, this site does not have a major UK presence, as the vast majority of users are American.
