You've read them, but it's obvious you didn't understand them. If you did, this thread would have been deleted and you would be working on your resume right now. But hey, huge props for getting strangers to spot you $5000 to freeroll with. That is the most impressive thing that will be accomplished by this. You are already up $5000 without playing one hand. Very nice.
You keep saying "update your resume'". With what? The OP has already said since 2000 he has played poker exclusively. I mean, no potential employer is going to take that seriously as some prerequisite for job experience. In fact, it would likely serve as a detriment, where the potential employer might thing he is spending all night in a casino before coming to work.

If I am the original poster, I am looking at multiple jobs at several restaurants at 70 hours in total a week, selling cars or the North Dakota oil fields which is a potential six figure job with no experience. But just showing up in Manhattan like one of those rag to riches movie story where they guy goes from making copies to trading on the NYSE floor is not going to happen. You just have to be realistic.

The only other alternative is if you know someone that can pull some strings for you. Economy is brutal and the competition is fierce. I know two college graduates that graduated cum laude in 2009 and still can't get in the field they want and are living at home just so they can pay their loans back.

I do agree with you on the fact that less than 1% ever make it as a poker professional. One of the last live games I played I was straddled by a couple burnout grinders who were noticeably stressed on every pot. One guy took a couple hundred from me in a pot when he caught me in a bluff. You'd have thought he'd won the lottery. He was so relieved stacking his chips, you knew it was his rent money, or worse.

On a side note, while a great movie, one of the worst life changing movies for thousands of impressionable young players was Rounders, myself included. That movie cost me a lot of money, although lesson learned in retrospect.
